The GM GTO clutch reservoir only holds a few ounces.

Here's a Kawasaki brake reservoir I used to replace my GTO one with. I forget the exact specs, but holds over twice the volume - so makes bleeding the clutch and going dry less risky. Plus it's a much bigger target to pour fluid into. It has an upper diapram type cap that keeps the fluid from sloshing around and seals perfectly. In my case, I was able to reuse the mounting bracket by flattening one portion out and reverse mounting compared to the origional motorcycle intent - bolted right to the LPE relocated Maggie reservoir and just barely cleared the hood. My lastest and best EDPM hose IMO, came from a BMW dealership - has a black cloth braided cover also.
I had done numerous full internet and ebay searches, checked all the Wilwood options, and went to every motorcycle shop I could find to look on bikes to find it. The hard part was most places don't give volume specs, side discharge is a must to keep from getting air trapped in the hose, and being able to see through IMO is the smartest way to go. You don't want to be opening the reservoir, just to check levels and color (just contaminates it quicker). Only downside is it cost about 5x more. GTO is around $20ish range, this was just under $100 with tax -but might be closer to $90, since a few hardware pieces weren't used and could be deleted. Plus, maybe it can be ordered on the internet for cheaper? I know this ends up being a tease - but I will find the reciept and part #s to post when I get back in town and have time. The part is used on numerous Kawasaki model/years and definitely will not leak..... even has a keeper bracket so cap couldn't possibly vibrate loose (overkill a motorcycle probably needs).

Kawasaki Brake Reservoir parts
Here's all the parts I ordered for just under $100 w/tax from my local Kawasaki dealer. I did a quick internet search and even with shipping from 2 different vendors, parts were much cheaper totaling about $80. (surprise...duh) All the parts except the bracket which is year specific (Kawasaki-zx1000GBF 2011 Ninja 1000), I found on one site: (might try calling powersportsplus re bracket - or search other sites)
http://www.powersportsplus.com with part # drilldown pretty easy (use part # only on top of page & hit enter when part matches) I ended up flattening out one part of the bracket for my mounting, I figured if nothing else, I could use it for a template. It has a small hole, that a nipple on the reservior inserts into to keep proper position. Bracket,Reservoir Tan (THIS IS THE ONLY PART I COULDN'T LOCATE ON Powersportsplus) Part Number: 11056-0263 http://www.ereplacementparts.com/kaw...25_178856.html The following parts fit Numerous years and models - Kawasaki 43078-1099 RESERVOIR Part# 43078-1099 Kawasaki 43026-1051 CAP-BRAKE Part# 43026-1051 Kawasaki 43028-1057 DIAPHRAGM Part# 43028-1057 Kawasaki 43027-1051 PLATE-DIAPHRAGM (mounts between cap & diaphragm) Part# 43027-1051 Kawasaki 92170-1090 CLAMP (holds cap from loosening) Part# 92170-1090 Kawasaki 92009-1570 SCREW (for clamp) Part# 92009-1570 The 4 following items I didn't use, since I reverse mounted on bracket, but might come in real handy if mounted as intended. I used stainless steel 1/4" x 20 threads per inch hardware for reservoir to bracket hardware to reverse mount. (I didn't utilize the larger hole in bracket for grommet.... the dampener) Kawasaki 92075-161 DAMPER RUBBER,BATTERY (not sure why it says battery) Part# 92075-161 Kawasaki 92152-0017 COLLAR Part# 92152-0017 Kawasaki 92210-0007 NUT,FLANGED,5MM Part# 92210-0007 (nut is black & didn't come with the 5mm bolt that inserts through the dampener mount - could have been part of motorcycle ) Kawasaki 92153-0578 BOLT,6X8 (allen head... probably went into motorcycle) Part# 92153-0578 Dimensions of reservoir not including the bracket are: 2 7/8" total hieght assembled 2 1/2" bottom of bowl to top of cap 2 1/4" cap diameter I found my latest EDPM brake hose with the braided cloth exterior at a BMW car dealership (don't have part #)

Kawasaki holds roughly 2 1/5 ounces ~ 70 ml I can get about 5 pumps onthe Kawasaki one when bleeding before it goes dry. Bigger is better and less of a PITA when bleeding, plus dilutes the brake dust - so longer between bleeds.

The last 4 pics are the parts I didn't use, but easily could have gone the other way. All depends on where you're installing it - bracket might just be used for a template to make your own. 1st pic was on the motorcycle.

I'm sure this has been asked before, but would this cap work for plugging the brake reservoir?
