NAPA locking gas cap for Camaro

I found this on the web a locking gas cap.
NAPA now has locking gas caps for CAMARO!

People have been inquiring since the Camaro came out if you could get a locking gas cap. With high gas prices, and a piece of mind that no one does anything foul to your Camaro, I can see why! GM doesn’t offer it, but through NAPA, you can get the following for $14.49 – I just did!
NAPA Part Number: BK 7031720
Product Line: Balkamp

Attributes:
Contents : (1) Gas Cap, (2) Keys
Dimension : 2 29/32″ W x 2 31/64″ H x 1 49/64″ W Base
Manufacturer : Stant Manufacturing
Manufacturer Part Number : 10504
Material : Plastic
Style Name : Replacement Locking Fuel Cap

Thanks, I might just do that until I decide whether or not to buy the GM replacement door.

I thought I read somewhere that syphoning gas from newer cars was impossible, some sort of mechanism that makes it difficult if not impossible?

Amazon -- $9.22. I just got mine yesterday (Stant 10504). No car yet but I'm adding it to my collection of accessories.

Bingo. The first stop I made after the dealership was to the auto parts store for the same gas cap. Then split to the next stop for a few cans of Scotch Guard.

Around here it's common for people to get sugar, salt, and any other grainy substance put into their gas tank.....

What's up with people? I'm so glad I don't live in your town. Why don't you move?

I live in Happy Valley, and before that, I lived "where the women are strong, the men are good looking, and all the children are above average."

Remember, in the USA, you can pick up and move anywhere you want. However, don't move into my quiet, beautiful, and friendly spot on earth and bring your uncivilized behavior.

There is a cup like collinger looking thing at the base of the fill tube on newer cars that does now allow a hose to enter the tank. They may get whats in the actual full tube if your one of those that fills it to the lid. As far as sugar is concerned, it does not dissolve in gasoline and is blocked by the sock on the fuel pump assembley and your filter if it some how makes it past the sock. If you have ever seen the fuel pump sock, you would have nothing to fear. it just settles in the tank, just like sand would. It's a pain to clean it out having to drop the tank and all, but it will not harm your car unless it makes it past the filters like I said before, which is very, incredibly, highly, unlikely lol.

The locking gas cap was my first mod. You always want to know what is going in your tank.

I'd also like to get a locking gas cap. Quick question though, can you still connect the dongle to the new cap so it will hang from the little hook on the gas door?

Be careful buying one that's too cheap. I had one on my truck a few years ago and I could not get it off in the middle of winter. Froze up on me in one of those nasty rain storms and by forcing the key it just wouldn't open.
