Will Muffler Delete Affect Performance?

I have a 2013 2LS. I wanted to find regular mufflers but all I can find are 1000 dollar exhaust systems. Will a muffler delete affect my camaro's performance at all? Positive or negatively?

Exhaust does not affect performance, just sound. Now if you go headers/full exhaust you will start seeing gains.

Muffler delete won't have any impact.

It will make your car slower, because you won't want to hear a v6 through straight pipes at high rpms.

Don't do a muffler delete on a V6.

MRT 2.0 for $550

A muffler delete does not sound very good on the V6. The MRT v2 slick rick mentioned is by far the most popular option.

Muffler delete reduces backpressure.

Reduction in backpressure reduces low end torque, but increases performance at higher speeds (more specifically, higher RPM's).

Sounds great though (at least on my SS) and the loss is only technical. It's not like it will suddenly feel like your driving a 60's Lincoln Continental.

Do not do a muffler delete on a V6. I learned the hard way. Paid $100 to get the custom straight pipes in place, then another $50 to get them removed and put the stock mufflers back on. I literally made my choice in 1 day to go back to stock.
It sounded obnoxiously loud, and even when you did floor the gas, it did not sound like a Camaro should. It sounded more like a Japanese import with some exhaust work done.
I may get an MRT 2 after I see one in person. I am not going to trust youtube videos anymore. Its different in person.

My setup for the muffler delete was a magnaflow resonated x-pipe, rotofab CAI, catch can, and apex scoop.

I understand where you are coming from. The choice whether or not to delete is not for everyone. If you're looking for something thats pretty good sound almost all the time, the muffler delete, with a magnaflow resonated x pipe, the exhaust will elminate most rasp and will match your dreamed exhaust experience. Dont you dare touch the factory resonators, and the only thing I recommend in place of the cats are SOLO high flow cats. Dont just delete the cats. Otherwise, this is a great, cheap exhaust note. It will have small drone from 2000-3000 rpm. But nothing that really ever bothered me. I love the sound. But if you only ever want sound when you're straight up flooring it, them MRT V2 would be the way to go.
