I'm still surprised that more people aren't doing this. I know there are a good handfull of people here that have done it but of all the M6 I've seen locally, I'm the only one that's done it. I show people all the time but the instrest just doesn't seem to be there. Oh well.....their loss not mine.
I think the interest is there but as you said no kit available for noobs like me. I've done lots of upgrades to my vehicle but I basically shop for what I want through my performance installer and have him bolt it on. Rather than pay him $x/p/hr. to fabricate something, would be nice if there was a kit I could just purchase that would look like it already came with the vehicle. I believe the first person to do this will make lot's of $$$.

It was late when installed so here are some pics of just the bracket and I will post pics later after work of it installed. I got 15" of 3/8" hose from a local hydraulic supplier, the end cap from NAPA and had some small clamps laying around and filled with Prestone Dot4 synthetic. The install took very little time, about 1 hour total, but now looks like GM actually meant for it to be there. I've had my clutch stick to the floor too many times, so this was a must mod. Hopefully time will tell, but from the replies it looks like this is the correct way to fix the problem!
This is a very nice natural looking setup.

Reservoir Bracket/Kits Available

Please send me a PM if interested in the below setup. A friend of mine is willing to fabricate the following bracket painted black now and is looking into doing the same in stainless. If there is enough interest or any requests, he is also willing to price up a DIY kit with all the materials needed have the reservoir mounted in its own location; bracket, reservoir, end cap, hose, fasteners and clamps.

I have EPDM hose, EPDM end caps and the hardware I used to mount the reservoir on the battery cable mount, somewhere in this thread is pictures of how I mounted the reservoir.

2010CAMAROJ, I'm interested in the stainless steel bracket. Quick question, are the nuts going to be welded to the bracket on the stainless too? IIRC, welding on stainless weakens the rust resistance. I'm OK if it's just a bracket and stainless hardware. Please send me a PM with a price shipped to 76711. Thanks.

Question about EPDM rubber cap. When I went to O'Reilly's they didn't have any and managed to talk me into a Dorman #47394, which is a 5/16" rubber cap. According to Dorman (yes I talked to them) it is made of natural rubber. All of the research I have done says that the Valvoline Synthetic Dot 3/4 brake fluid that I use is compatible with natural rubber.

So, is a EPDM cap really needed?

From what I have researched, natural rubber, neoprene and EPDM are all resistant to the corrosive effects of brake fluid. EPDM is the best, then neoprene, then natural rubber.

Being the anal retentive guy that I am, I went to NAPA and bought 660-1698 bypass caps. They are EPDM. Here are a few pictures of my set up. I cut off one of the mounting tabs for the reservoir, and drilled a new hole through the backside in order to give myself enough room. I wanted to use the existing brake line. Once I got it mounted up it was pretty easy to remove the brake line from the existing and plug into the new. Spilled very little fluid, but no issues.
