Front subframe? question

I bought a project zl1. The front was ran into a dirt bank. It damaged the welded bar on the front subframe. I have searched and googled everything I can think of and looked in the chiltons manual. I can't even find the subframe. I'm questioning if I'm even calling it the correct thing. This is the only thing that is frustrating me with my project. Can anyone identify this or give me a link or a name of what to search.

How about checking with one of the GM parts suppliers online. You can search by numbers or sections of the car.

I assure you I have tried. I ordered a bunch of parts online using the part breakdowns provided. I can't find it.

Since it is welded, it is likely part of the front subframe that cannot be ordered without buying a complete subframe. It isn't listed under any of the replacement sheet metal schematics:
Part 1:
http://www.wholesalegmpartsonline.co...rimLevel=25857

Part 2:
http://www.wholesalegmpartsonline.co...rimLevel=25857

Part 3:
http://www.wholesalegmpartsonline.co...rimLevel=25857

Part 4:
http://www.wholesalegmpartsonline.co...rimLevel=25857

In that case, your options are:

-buy a subframe from a car wrecked in the rear
-have a competent welder/chassis shop cut out the damaged part(s) and weld in new piece(s)
-buy an aftermarket subframe such as the extreme innovations offering

The middle option of cut/replace will be the cheapest and easiest. Once it is painted, no one but you would probably know.

Here is a schematic. It doesn't list the subframe part number though:

If you're worried about further front subframe damage and want to totally replace it you can swap it out by building a engine stand piece to support the motor. Then drop subframe and swap over suspension bits. Doable on jack stands but truck height is best. I built one and I'm not certified at anything, ha.

This doesn't show the straps that I wrapped about the engine mounts but you get the idea. GM wants $1250 for their factory support stand used in the service manuals, screw that. $30 with a ton of steel left over.
