Is anyone running e85 on the v6

Hey guys they just put in e85 at a gas station close to me and was wondering if anyone was running it on the lfx/llt and what the gains were and what parts did you need? I know you need a tune and bigger injectiors

Don't you ever do a search first ? Try in the LFX section of the forum. I'm pretty sure you're not suppose to run E85 unless you have a tune for it . At least I know that's the way it is with my LFX.

Almost 30 hp on an lfx. You need the kit, pin activation and tune

Really? That's massive! Where did you get that data from? I thought I've heard DSX and Janetty quote maybe 10-15HP on an LS3 NA set up. If someone is putting down 30rwhp on just a flex fuel set up v6 with a good tune, I think I've found my next mod

Edit: I wonder if that has something to do with them being direct injected and ours not? Hmmm.

Agreed, Derek has a write up on the complete kit you would need from Overkill.

I know from personal experience lol. My lfx had 302 rwhp on e85 no where near as big of a jump on my l99 when I made the switch

Still, that's pretty good. Add Cai and a catback and you're close to stock L99 power figures.

Ok, I'm going all lazy too. What happens if you run E85 in a stock L99? Crappy alcohol-laden performance in an engine not designed to burn it? Duh?

Thats 302 whp with full bolt ons and e85. It's not worth the money. I could have spent like 2k more and been boosted

Edit and only 267 torque. So yes the hp was pretty close but huuuuge difference in torque

Without the kit and pin activated and tune? Probably nothing good would happen lol. I imagine it would be like throwing diesel in there

I got i think 17 hp from the switch with just bolt ons on my l99

Edit I realized later you were probably being facetious

No, I was genuinely curious. I just remember when they introduced a percentage of ethanol into CA gas years ago and people complained about performance. It's a way of life now. I'm not sure pure gasoline is even available here anymore. Thanks.

I'm finding 30rwhp hard to believe. I bumped up my compression and didn't get anywhere near that with l99

It isn't anywhere near 30 RWHP unless they were running 87 octane on stock tune to begin with and then went to E85 with an aggressive tune.

277 to 302 just from e85. So yes not 30 exactly but pretty close. Magnum I used to post in lfx bolt ons all the time.

Edit
Same tuner, same dyno, only difference was e85
