Back from the dyno... 397whp, 392 torque (barely modified!)

I just got back from a trip to the dyno with my friends, and I've gotta say, I'm impressed. My car put down 397.16 whp, and 392.71 wheel torque!! As of right now, all I have done is a Cold Air Inductions intake, and a muffler delete. Run conditions were 74 degrees with 34% humidity. I was pretty happy with those numbers! I thought I would need headers to crack the 400 mark, but I'm close as it sits now. Can't wait to do a few more mods!

So are these numbers decent considering the light mods I've done??

Don't mean to rain on your parade but those are STD numbers. Corrected should bring those numbers down to mid 380's for HP. That is more inline with what you should be running with a CAI. Your muffler delete shouldn't have made much, if any, performance difference.

Those are pretty good numbers. You should get long tube headers and you will be in the 400s for sure. I put a polished Rotofab cai, Kook 1 7/8 headers with high flow cats and kept the stock exhaust all the way back, pulled 421 RWHP and 419TQ. I assume yours is a LS3 like mine.

Nice!! Yeah... I have an LS3. I'm looking at throwing some 1 7/8 headers on my car before too long. I'm still debating on a cam (since this car is currently being daily driven). Either way, I love how LS motors respond to mods.

That's the most important part. Go ahead and slap those headers on and you'll be well over 400whp.

very good #'s, even if it's STD hp/tq. Much cooler weather than when I ran though at 96 degrees! Chevy must have added some juice to yours

I'm at 384 with catback and cai, so I'd be real happy with your #s. congrats!

1 3/4 if you go with a cam

1 7/8 if you go with forced induction (supercharger, turbocharger).

1 7/8 actually show's a loss in torque if left with a setup like cai/headers/catback.
1 3/4 = no loss

Nice! Looks like 1 3/4 might be with way to go for me then because I plan on keeping it all NA. I will probably have to wait awhile on the cam until I can get a daily driver. :( I don't want to completely destroy mileage until then. LOL.

This has been proved incorrect by many dyno tests. You can do a seach for Jannettys header test for more details.

From Jannetty's test: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...header+testing
Our Test Car is none other than, Bigdogs LS3 Camaro used in our CAI test.
This Car is 100% Stock other than the Headers installed for the Testing.

Stock Peak Numbers 373 RWHP 378 RWTQ
Stock Average Numbers I will post tomorow Forgot to print them.

1.75 long tube headers w high flow cats Peak 401.1 HP 403.8 TQ
1.75 long tube headers w high flow cats Average 281.2 HP 363.9 TQ

1.875 long tube headers w high flow cats Peak 406.8 HP 407.5 TQ
1.875 long tube headers w high flow cats Average 283.7 HP 366.6 TQ

2.0 long tube headers w high flow cats Peak 411.7 HP 408.9 TQ
2.0 long tube headers w high flow cats Average 288.1 HP 368.1 TQ

The 1 3/4 Headers did Surprisingly well.
The 1 7/8 Headers IMO are the best all around header.
The 2.0 Headers are neck and neck with the 1 7/8 but Slightly stronger from 5000 to 6300
