Your Oil look like that because of the below freezing temperatures you are experiencing now.

Water condenses inside the can as it heats up and cools...it's not like that inside your engine.

That makes sense. I don't see those kinds of temps here in Vegas. The low is 47 degrees here today and the high is 65.

I didn't know it looked that way because of the below freezing temperatures. Guess I learned something lol.

I'll say one thing, the catch can is by far the best investment I've put into the car!!

Seems like a lot to me. I empty mine into the lid of a Mobil 1 oil bottle every 3k miles or so and I only get about half a lid full every time.

I had about that much in mine as well, the color and from what I can see in the pic, consistency looks pretty much the same too.

Egad! Glad I put in a catch can. Knowing that all that muck goes in the intake, I can't see why manufacturers don't put catch cans of some sort in as standard.

Haven't checked mine yet - I only have 1,200 miles on my SS. Here is a picture from my 2012 V6 after about 3,000 miles (my first oil change since install - car had about 7,500 miles on it). Sure looks different than OP's. I would change the oil immediately and thoroughly drain the catch can, then check it after 1,000 miles or so. YUCK! (But aren't you glad it's in the can?)

As already stated, the color is because of the temperature fluctuations and completely normal.

That said - I barely get any oil in mine and I drive my car hard. Seems to really vary from car to car.

Can you post pictures of how yours is hooked up? and the drain valve? Never seen no oil caught yet out of close to 12,000 of these in use.....

there is a pic of mine in my album...the can is lower than the ports the line comes out of its just a standard aftermarket cheap can. And yes its drain valve is on the bottom, and it has a external visual monitor tube. I think maybe just waiting to get enough for me to see in the tube, or a exceptionally well seated set of rings from the get go.

Is it only this much because its the break in period still? Love to hear your inputs
Yours looks exactly like mine when I drain it Nothing to worry about

You are not seeing any Oil in your catch can because it is not working as it should.

I hate to bring you the bad news, but those "cheap" catch cans as you describe that you have, are just hollow so all the gunky oil is flowing rite past and into your intake manifold.

Sorry man,but the truth hurts
