flowmaster 40 series

i know everyone is prolly tired of exhaust questions...and yes i do know how to use a search button, but i couldnt find exactly want i need to know lol

anyway i have a shop thats really near me that will install exhaust if i want, but it cant involve any pipe bending. so i wanted to know from the people that have put the flowmaster 40 series (not the Axle back)on there camaro if it justs a cut old off and put new on or if theres any fabrication/bending needed. thanks

I have flowmaster 40's on mine, and the shop had to make bends. The tips will definitly require bends, the input part might not if the shop is good. Here is a crappy picture of mine.

Maybe 6, but I'm not a good judge of sound though. It cost me $500 for the parts and install. It was a local pop and son muffler shop about 1/4 a mile from my house, so it felt good supporting such a small shop.

If you spent 500 to have crush bent pipes made just for axle back than you probably would have been 100 times better off just going with a pre made camaro specific system like flowmaster american thunder or MRT v2for 500 they should have given you a stainless steel mandrel bent piping and that probably would have been still too much. My shop only charge 80 bucks to do that if you bring your own mufflers and 300-350 for the whole dual system, magnaflow, flows, or spintech.

The shop did do mandrel bending. It was 2 mufflers, 2 tips, pipes, and the bending. The father does nothing but exhaust work, and he does it right the first time. The exhaust isn't loose, doesn't leak, nothing, and its been on for over a year with no problems.

I think it look really good but I wouldn't have paid 500 personally but thats just me. The pic look like its crushed bend but then again, its only a pic so I could be wrong. It wont have any affect in low hp setup anyway.

It look good. As long as you are happy

11 CamaroLS - Due to the shape of the exhaust piping, it would be extremely tough to install a pair of just about any muffler without making a couple of bends if you want a smooth transition for free flowing exhaust, especially to get the tips to fit.

We're sure you've see this video of us installing an American Thunder Axle-Back in a 2010 LS Camaro:

MagnumForceGB - Do you have a video of the sound?
