FRONT END SHIMMY

I wanted to get some all season tires for my 2010 LT/RS so I could drive when it is wet/raining. So, I bought match pairs of Yokohama parada spec-x. Jacked the car up took off all four wheels/tires off and took them to a local shop that does tires only, to have the yokohamas mounted and balance. I stood there and watch them mount and balanced each one. Came back and mounted them on the car. And,yes I made sure they were mounted in the proper rotation that it said on the tire. I used gorilla locks on all lugs, 20 in all, and torqued to proper specs. About 4 months after that the front end started to shimmy at 60 mph, and it scared the hell out of me. Stopped the car and made sure everything looked right. Which it did. So I think, did the balance wts come off. Took it to the same place, took all four off and the wts were there. So i said lets rebalance them. I stood there and they did and put them back on the car. With the 20 gorilla locks. Drive it up to 60 mph, it was better but not right. So I am like , what the f__k. Thinking the gorilla locks are not holding them right. Went back to the shop and had them put the original OEM lug nuts put on and torqued. Drove , got up t0 65, but still a little shimmy. OK, Everyone, I am lost as to what to check? How about a complete front and back alignment? Need some help here. Everything under the car is correct and in place. Checked it all when we had the wheels/tires off the last time.

Are these stock rims? Or after market? Hub centric would apply to aftermarket rims...its an adapter that fits in the big hole on the rim to adapt to the hub...if that little piece of plastic is missing, you'll get a "shimmy" What did you torque the rims to?

These are the stock RS wheels. Torqued to 140 lbs.

I didnt realize you had factory wheels. I was thinking thast you had bought some wheels and tires and was dealing with a vibration.

The biggest variable you have, is assuming that the balancing is being done correctly in the first place..

Find a shop that has a "Road Force" balancer.
It will detect issues with the tire itself which can show it's face after some miles.
Sometimes you can rotate the tire 180* on the rim to solve the problem.

I say this because you had no issue with the rims before you changedtires.

Sometimes the tires won't balance no matter what you do,in which case you contact the manufacturer with your documentation for replacement.
