Upgrading engine mounts?
It seems like these engines have a ton of play in them. When I test drove my car before I bought it, the engine rotation actually popped the intake tube off the airbox. Anyone going to different / stiffer engine mounts on their TVS car?

Are solid mounts recommended for this application?

Don't know what application you're going for but yes, solid engine mounts will get rid of pretty much all engine movement. Though it will also increase road noise as well.

Just the stock ZL575. I couldn't believe how much rotation of the engine occurred in these cars between on and off throttle.

Im sure someone makes one, but solid mounts can be brutal to live with. Race car stuff. Pfadts is a very small self lubing bushing in a rigid aluminum frame. 95% of the character of solid, but much, much less stress/vibration. The best compromise out there.
Prothane makes a nice poly pancake mount, too. Its a little more affordable then the pfadt, but a different style. Theres a third company that makes a direct copy (imo) of the pfadt mount for a few bucks less. Jury's still out on that one. They claim 7 second tested but no one has a camaro nearly that fast. http://www.torquesolution.com/product-p/ts-cam-001.htm

Its not necessary, unless youre having issues with piping due to engine movement. I run the pfadt style mount because of tight tolerance in the fit of the 4l80. The prothane mounts are a little more compliant if you dont want any extra vibes in the car

After a while I can't even tell I have the Pfadt mounts. They started off almost unbearable, but either I got use to them or they softened up. But from vids of my engine from dyno pulls the engine doesn't move at all.
