nope.
There's no discernable difference between 10W-30 and 5W-30 oil as far as the engine response; the only difference is the ability of the oil to flow at cold temps. The lower the 'weight', the easier the oil will flow when it's cold...at operating temp, both 5W and 10W will 'act' the same. In Texas, 10W-30 would be preferable to 5W-30 simply because your temps are normally higher than, say, Minnesota.....only maybe not this year! A more noticeable effect on performance is the fuel quality/octane rating. Lots of other factors can influence performance such as air density/temp, exhaust restrictions, air intake restrictions, glitches in the computer performance parameters, etc. If your Camaro isn't running as well as it did, it's probably worth having the dealer run a diagnostic...is it still at the dealer?

Yep...... I woke up to snow this morning falling pretty heavy. Of course, the temps were around 38 so it was melting, but it was big ole flakes! I have never seen snow this many times here in the deep south. Global warming?!?!?!?!?!? I think not!!!

relabeled...
Only now they aren't calling it Global warming anymore; it's now "Climate Change"....wow, how clever!? I'm scheduled to do a presentation on how climate change is affecting the Arctic and what it means to the Coast Guard (specifically boating safety) and even though I'm not a scientist, I've done enough research to find out that most of the 'scientists' don't really have a clue about what's going on...what does that mean to the average Camaro owner? My advice would be to invest in a good set of winter tires if you expect to be driving year round, even if you live in the deep south! The weather patterns might not seem 'normal' to any of us..at least during our personal experience/lifetime, but they're certainly not unprecedented in history! We've got warmer temps/less precipitation this year than the last few, no doubt. The southern states have seen more snow this year than for many years. The polar ice is melting. Yep, climate change!

One thing I've often noticed is that while one place is reporting record hot temps, somewhere else on the globe is reporting record cold temps. But the person reporting seems to leave out the other report depending on which agenda he is supporting at the moment ............. stepping off my soapbox now......
