Cool, sucks that you got injured as a PFC. I'm fortunate enough to say I've made it this far as a Lance Corporal and still haven't been wounded.

Actually, there is plenty of reason to thank you. Gratitude for your willingness to be placed in harm's way is difficult to express, so here is yet another simple 'thank you'.

At the very least it brings somber awareness of the sacrifices made by those in the armed forces to those whose connection with military service is minimal, distant or nonexistent.

When it comes from somebody that you have something in common with (i.e. Camaro5 membership) it just hits you much harder than numbers in the news.
