Strange (???) sound when accelerating or not? (LS3) with video

Now with almost 1000 miles on our 2013 EU Camaro LS3 2SS I can say that it is absolutely great.

...but there is one little thing which worries me a little bit.

There is a strange sound when accelerating besides the normal engine, wind an tires sound.

It seems to come from the middle of the dash.

It's only there when driving in gear around 2000-3500 rpm and not when reving the engine in neutral with the same rpm.

I think the sound I'm refering to is noticable in the videos (not the deep engine sound but the lighter sound when accelerating); it's a light ticking-rattling-"slurping" sound.

Unfortunately the closest dealer here in Germany at my place has not enough experience with Camaro cars to say if it is normal or not.

Something I should be worried about?

Cheers from Germany

Michael

Update from today:

A few Camaro owners from the German forum suggested to check the hurst shifter and to keep the shifter in my hand to see if this would effect the noise.

Tried it out today and noise seems to change or even disappears when holding the shifter during acceleration or when pushing it in certain directions.

Also found a "hurst short shifter noise reduction kit" advertised on the internet.

So this is normal from the shifter's play?

Cheers

Michael

My short shifter made a rattle sound, it was worse when you hold the shifter knob. It's annoying but not a whole lot you can do about it.

Is it the Hurst shifter that comes with the Camaro or the after market Hurst?

Thanks for your reply.

It's the one which comes with the car from GM; not the aftermarket one.

Cheers

It just sounds like road noise coming up the shifter. My stock shifter makes the same noise.

The Hurst noise reduction kit isn't for the GM version, its for the billet 2 Hurst shifter from what I remember
