yeah I had it on my car too. The good news is that most dealers will clay-bar it out if you don't want to do it yourself. I didn't notice for several months, but once I did, they fixed the problem. I probably got rid of most of the rail dust when I clay bared my car the day after I got it...

I just bought a 2012 and it has the rail dust on it also. I work @ Advance auto parts part time and bought some Meguiers Clay bar and cleaned it off myself. Not too hard.

This is what you need. http://www.amazon.com/Carpro-Iron-Re...4685080&sr=8-1

If particles are really imbedded claying won't help. IRON X actually dissolves the iron particles. You know this because the clear liquid will turn purple. After an application your car will begin to bleed purple.

Clay barred my car first month I had it, about two years ago. Beautiful and smooth as a baby's ass.

Majority of cars out there get this rail dust, but it is way easier to spot on white vehicles. I noticed this same thing on my white 01 Impala and that is the reason I will never get another white car in my life time.

You could go to ceramic pads for brakes. This may cut down on some of the rail dust issues. When applying the brakes the metal or organic (whatever they are called) pads rub on the rotor which creates brake dust. This brake dust can collect to the side of the car and if the climate which you live in has humidity, it can cause the metal/organic dust or turn to a rust color which gives you "rail dust" Clay bar is the best solution, but be prepared to do it every spring and spend several hours doing it. I use to wash cars as a kid and my boss made me clay bar a F350. I wasn't very happy with him after that.
