21k miles is pretty low for a B4C. I'm not so sure they're "collectable," but more of a novelty. They are usually priced less than their "civilian" counterparts, so it's a great way to save some money to get into a LS1 4th gen.

Ok probably a typo but its a b4c camaro and they are genearlly low miles and have been ran like hell. You can pick em up cheap most of the time so dont fall for the its a collectable spiff that ive seen alot of people throw out. The b4cs were mass produced the only interceptor camaros that are acually worth more than the rest are the ss model that was produced in either 01 or 02 and there were only about 100 of those ever made. But demonspeed is right if you find one for cheap grab it bbecause non scammers generally let em go for a lil less than ciivi models. Food for thought

I have to agree with him. They are great cars if you get them to go low on the price. Even if it had 10k on it, those 10k miles were abused more then a Z28 of equal year with 100k (usually). I knew a kid had one that used to show up at car shows back in the day. He got real lucky and got it for a great price.

Keep in mind they are maintained very well. Think about it as having your own personal pit crew each time you pull into your garage. I wouldn't worry about the miles as I bet it had more time invested in preventative maintenance than most civilian vehicles ever see.

If you can get a Build sheet from the vin, You will see all the options it has. You will also find that they are very light. Mine weighs 3340 with 1/2 tank and me in car. I weigh 220 so that puts it at 3120 and it did 8.5 @87mph in the 1/8th STOCK. Real good platform to build on. If you buy it post up some pics!

US, I gotta disagree with you on a couple points. As far as "mass produced," I guess that's a matter of perception. Even if you considered these numbers "mass produced", they are still relatively low compared to other models' production:

1991 592
1992 589
1993 135
1994 668
1995 310
1996 228
1997 ??
1998 0
1999 196
2000 254
2001 286
2002 708

These numbers are courtesy of the Camaro White Book. There were an average of 396 produced between 1991-2002. The highest year was 2002 (when Chevrolet announced '02 would be the last production year and agencies & dealerships ordered a lot more than usual), the lowest 1993.

For '01 & '02, B4C's may have been modified to look like SS's, or ordered with additional options to further the comfort level, but there were very few if any true B4C cars produced that made it to SLP for SS conversion. I do know GMMG and Tom Henry (maybe others?) converted several B4C's into their own package.

As far as being collectible, again, a matter of perception. To give you an idea, I bought my manual '93 back in '04 for $11K with 11K miles on it, it was professionally appraised at $15K two years later (that's almost a 30% return, far better than the stock market, eh? lol). I'm guessing it may be at least a couple grand more now.

When it comes to the B4C, collectibility depends on color, transmission, and year (like any other car). GM didn't keep track of the manuals vs. automatics until 1999. But in speaking with several people at GM and Scott Settlemire, there were only a handful of manuals produced through the '90's, making manuals even harder to come by.

I do whole-heartedly agree with you in that if one can be found for cheap that hasn't had the snot kicked out of it, then buy it, they're incredibly fun and the options to modify are endless.
