The BA system already has an amp in the back of the trunk. Typically, in order to add an aftermarket amp, you would need to cut, splice and a lot of other research to add the amp.

Steve at ******** has already done this for you. He created this harness that all you have to do is disconnect the connectors from the stock amp, and plug them into his FARK harness. These connections convert the signal from the X2 and X3 connectors into RCA connectors, allowing you to add your amp as normal, and just run RCAs, speaker wires and a remote line from the FARK to your amp.

Pretty much. If you order the FARK, the 6X9 connectors come with it, and everything is real simple to work with.

Here is the ******** speaker wire harness. His green connector attaches right into the X2 connection I believe, and you attach it right to your speaker wires. I prefer to be a little bit more neat about mine so I attached it to this terminal strip:

Here is what my set up look liked as a result of the ******** FARK (unfortunately my amp rack fell apart so I have to rerun everything)

You can see on X3 connector, that it simply just plugs into the X3 connector of the car, and then you now have 4 RCA outs and the orange wire (in this picture it's white) for your remote attachment:

Are you planning on replacing the BA amp?

What are your complaints about the Boston System? For some the biggest complaint isn't volume but rather quality of the sound. You could replace the door and rear deck speakers with much improved aftermarket 2 ohm speakers and the overall sound quality even through the stock BA amp would be greatly improved. If the volume is also an issue for you then I would highly recommend the ******** FARK harness and his amp board and then the JL Audio XD400/4 amp and replace the door and rear deck speakers with aftermarket. IMO, By far the worst parts of the stock BA system are the 6x9 speakers.

I have to strongly disagree here. The speakers in the Boston system really aren't that bad. The problem is the factory amp. It is complete garbage. Replacing the factory amp with a quality amp (The JL XD400/4 would be good) will make an incredible difference. The 6x9's aren't great, but if they are reconnected properly to a decent amp or amps, they are fine. I would really love to see someone replace the factory amp with a JL XD600/6 and connect the 6x9's up right.

What a lot of people don't realize is that the Boston 6x9's are actually a component system. They are actually a subwoofer and a mid/high on a single chassis. They have separate inputs and would benefit tremendously from being bi-amped. Aftermarket component systems usually come with external crossovers - with the Boston system the crossovers are part of the stock amp.

Also - Dynamat, Focal B.a.M. XL, or the sound deadening of your choice is highly recommended. The back deck is barely thicker than paper, so it's going to make noise with any bass.
