What do you think?
I went to the Nissan dealership here in my town to look at the 370z.As soon as i got out of my car salesman flew out the door like the building was on fire.I told him that i wanted to see the new Z he said no problem and took me to a pretty blue one.As i was looking the car over the salesman started to tell me about the big sister to the Z the GTR and that he had a 2009 inside that i could look at.To my surprise i was real impressed i thought the car was BAD A$$.While i was talking to the salesman the finance manager came out and come to find out i know the guy he helped me with a lone about two years ago and as a matter of fact my brother went to school with the guy.I told him that i really like the car and that i have a 2009 Shelby gt500 that i wanted to trade just bsing around(i do have the Shelby just not ready to let her go)and he said he will check around and get back with me.He call me back and asked for the vin# but didn't call me back that day.I didn't know much about the car so i did a little research here on the forum and found out that the transmission was bad.So today i went back to the dealership to see what was going on. my guy was not there but the salesman got him on the phone.he told me that my Shelby was worth about 50k and the GTR is 73k`plus a 3k mark up.I asked him about the tranney and he said pretty much the same thing that "it not worth a sh^*t"!If any of you guy can give any input on this car it would be greatly appreciated.can the transmission be that bad?I probably can get the dealership to drop the 3k stickup and trade my car and somewhere in between 23 and 25k what do you guys think?

The 370 Z is a really nice looking car and from what I've heard it performs great. The GT-R is awesome, even better than the 370Z. If you have the oportunity I would definetly get the Camaro SS. JMO.

so..... mom bought a nissan because we thought they were good cars...... $37,000 and one of the biggest pieces of sh*t ever. dont buy a nissan, unless something has changed since a year or two ago..... which I highly doubt has. Im talking major improvements though.

Trap, this is a Camaro forum, just FYI. The GT-R has been known to have tranny issues when you put it in performance mode. The 370Z is a nice car, and so is the Camaro. Do what you wish, but I wouldn't expect to get unbiased opinions here.

Dont buy a car that specifically tells you its potential is maxed stock and then list the ways not to modify it. Who makes a performance car that almost 80k and markets it towards the track community but not allow it to have room to grow? It's a cool car but your gt500 is way better!!! |

If you really want to pay for a GTR then wait untill the 2010 model. They're suppose to have a better tranny. The current one is crap.
