Get a kit, otherwise you risk light that cannot be aimed correctly. the burn point must be the same as the halogens you replace. I have the BFXenon kit, its has everything you need to do it right.

Spend a little extra and get HID projectors. I've had both and the projectors are awesome!

I plan on buying the eagle eyes as soon as I sell my old LS wheels.

You need to get an HID kit which consists of the bulbs and ballasts, which are the converter boxes you're referring to.

You cannot have HIDs with ballasts, so if you've seen them installed bulbs alone, those were definately not HIDs.

Like others have said, if you don't have the RS package, you should get factory RS headlights or the Eagle Eyes since both have projector lenses, the correct lenses for HIDs.

Not 100% correct.

I didn't want halos and like the look of the chrome Halogen housing. Looks more like a 1st Gen Camaro IMO. I had my HID projectors retrofitted into a Halogen housing. Take a look at my thread I posted above.

RS OEM headlights and Eagle Eyes are not your only options.

I intentionally did not buy the RS pkg because I did not care for the looks of the RS lights as much. That's just my opinion.

My HID projector retrofit fixed the lights just the way I wanted them.

But.....Yes....get HID projectors.
