almost there

My 2014 Z has 1030 miles on it as of today ..... 470 miles to go . This brake in period has been painful because i only really drive my Z on the weekends and it seem like it is taking for ever. I been doing allot of highway driving and been varying my speed from 55 to 75 . I am almost there .

Stop driving around
Fuel it up head south , I mean way south like FL
It will take you about half the time on the way back home !

This whole break in thing reminds me of the spring loaded isolater bearing on the upper pulley. A long, long time ago I put up a post to someone with a supercharger rattle and said just take it to an aftermarket shop and get that spring loaded piece of crap pulled off the car and put a solid isolator in there and it will be fixed. Someone with a GM connection jumped in and gave me the third degree and said how dare I contradict the engineers that said it absolutely had to have that spring in there. Here we are a year later and someone at GM finally admitted the spring loaded isolater is a problem so everyone can have theirs replaced...with a solid isolator. I wonder if this was the same engineer that said you should not drive the car hard for the first 1500 miles? If it makes sense to you to baby the car for 1500 miles then go ahead. I don't get it.

I concur. It makes absolutely no sense. It makes more sense to break in a new driver for 1500 miles.

I honored the word of the break in. On it to 4000 rpm and then shift while keeping it under 80. I saw no reason not to

Triple digits with double digits on the odometer. I could pull other stock Z's that followed the break-in.
