What is the likelyhood of engine failure in the warranty period?

Hello
I am on the fence about a tune, LT's, catback and possibly a cam
on my 5th gen. I know if I do the tune and cam the warranty is history.
So I ask...Whats the chance of something breaking within the first
5 years (warranty period)with these mods?...Whats the worst that
could happen (within reason)?...I mean..how often do you here of people
that had something major break on these kind of engines (modded or not)
were the cost of repair would exceed $5.000.00? I know it happens and
it's a risk we take, but how often does it?

Thanks

Daniel

Not very likely to have motor problems that are major in the first 5 years. There have been some years that had motor problems early. I think if that were the case here it would have already started. Just look at the tranny problems on the ss, they showed up early. That's just the risk you take with motor mods. Most of the mods you listed wouldn't void the warranty. The tune and the cam would.

The T6060 tranny runs around $3k wholesale so about $3,500 - $4k retail.

There you go guys, is it worth voiding your warranty for some extra power, unless your really wealthy and can afford breaking stuff and paying for it out of pocket go ahead but if I didn't have my warranty in the situation i am in now with my transmission id have a useless camaro sitting in front of my house because I don't have any extra money for repairs.

No hard feelings for the wealthy haha I guess I can only say be smart when modding your car, Is it really worth the extra 100hp maybe to loose your 5 year 100,000 mile warranty????

Even if you did break your tranny (Output shaft) cause of some mods, you can make a case that people are breaking them with stock cars. It should be in the system or something.
