CAI/Scoop thoughts

So i was working in my driver wheel area area today in my warm garage and I noticed cool air blowing onto my arm. I was a bit confused until I realized it was from the JRE scoop. It was picking up the air from the wally world box fan that was on the end of the garage. It was enough air to move the hair on my arms.

This got me to thinking---scary I know.

Since dynos are performed on stationary cars, and the scoops/CAIs work better with moving air...is it not possible that these devicedd perform better in real world application than in a dyno test? Also, the complex characteristics of moving air could affect how each device performs when compared to other devices.

I guess one could Dyno with a shop fan blowing at the car to simulate airflow.

I take it you've never been to a dyno session? It's common practice to have one if not two big shop fans blowing on the front of the car.

How about a shop fan that blows 60mph winds? Apparently it works, and I'm the only one that's never given in.

And if you didn't pick it up from my post, the most common cold air intake dyno comparison you will find on this site uses a fan that blows 60mph winds.
