Unhappy The price of stupid

Last September a rock broke my windshield. I took it to a local shop who did the repair. 3 days later when I removed the tape from the sides of the glass I found a 3" long scratch on one of the pillars. Carried it back to the glass company. They were very good about accepting responsibility. Got it repaired at the Dealer and the glass company paid the bill.
I don't do much driving in the rain, but on Monday a large bug decided to commit suicide on my windshield. When I hit the wiper/ washer to clean the mess, I heard the most AWFUL sound - metal on glass. When I got home I found that one of the wiper arms was pressing on the glass.
Took the car to the Dealer the next morning for this and several other minor issues. Got a call from the Service Dept this morning. The Tech tells me that when the glass company replaced the windshield, they switched up the wiper arms and re-installed them wrong. Not only did the one on the driver's side scratch the windshield, the other one scraped about 3" of paint off the rear lip of the hood.
Got an estimate from the Body Shop to repair the damage. They have to remove the hood stripes, repaint and clearcoat the hood, another new windshield, and new stripes. $1913.95
I dropped off a copy of the estimate at the glass company. They took pictures and told me they would contact me tomorrow after they got with their Manager. I just hope they are as good to deal with this time as they were for the other scratch.

Ouch! A simple windshield replacement....almost $2000 later.....
Hopefully, the glass company will step up and pay for the damage.

Small claims court. With the dealership backing you on the cause of the damage, it should be open and shut. That would be a hassle, but it should work out in your favor easily if they really want to go down that road.

This is why you should always inspect work done on your car. Id be surprised if the glass company didn't tell you to go kick rocks. Its been half a year since repairs were made. Why didn't dealer notice this mixup when they reapired the paint job right next to the wipers on the pillar?

They were good to deal with on the original claim and since they were referred by the Dealer, I think they will want to make this right rather than take a chance on losing their future business.
If they so "No" I can assure them they will spend more than $2k on their lawyer.
