Twin turbo 2010 idling problem

I have a twin turbo 2010 ss. It has a zr1 camshaft and forged rods and pistons. Other than that the motor is stock. A majority of the time when I push the clutch in coming to a stop it drops down to 4-500 Rpms before the idle recovers and dies a lot of the time. Any ideas what I need to change in the hp tuner tune to correct it? Thanks for the help

Do you have a stock throttle body or a ported one? A ported one will cause the idle to surge to 4-500 sometimes.

I still have the stock throttle body. If it recovers it comes up and idles at 8-900 like its suppose to. But it's always when I push the clutch in it drops real low. Especially when pulling in or backing out of a parking spot

Do you have the cam specs? Mines done that since day one, mines pretty rough to begin with, but especially when its cold. Long duration can cause that I believe, but you could only tune so much with the cam. I've taken my car to 3 different tuners and none of them have been able to FULLY fix the idle (and these are some of the best tuners on the west coast). It's gotten a lot better, but not totally gone.

I will get them. Mine idles fine once it recovers and never dies. It's just coming to a stop or pushing the clutch in when trying to park it when it dies

Gotcha, mine wants to die below 1k rpms usually, maybe one of the tuners on here could help us out and find the root cause!

Hey Pyro. Hi OP. I have had issues with idling. It was in the tune. Mine now idles at 850 + . During tuning if it was less the car bogged, shut off a lot, just acted weird horrible. The tune made the difference. I think you just have to find the right guy to make it work. I am by now means an expert but I feel the tune is the focus. I let only my one tuner do my tuning always. he knows all the specs, and other tuners are stumped according to why my car runs. "They say they dont like the tune...but my tuner has the fastest camaro on the scene" So I guess he is doing some thing right. Good luck with it, and keep u posted.

Hey hows it going. geez 850whp? Nice numbers!

Does your tuner use HP Tuner and do you know what tables he was looking at to fix the problem?

I could help you out assuming you have HPTuners and have your tune file and log.

First of all, make sure you have the correct injector data for whatever injector you are using assuming you are still using a returnless style, if using a return-style make sure you mention that.

make sure your MAF curve is dialed in properly, the most accurate way to dial in your maf curve at driving speeds/idle/coastdown is using the o2 sensors and logging long term fuel trims.

if all is check and you havent changed your throttle body then the fix is simply in your idle airflow table.

Dang Josh, I can't believe you are still having problems with your tune! I was hoping you'd have it taken care off by now :(

Bump the base idle airflow until it is fixed.

yup, losing fuel pressure above 5k rpms. I talked to the guys at Aeromotive during SEMA about possible causes. More than likely the fuel filter just needs to be replaced (and its easy to get to on my car too). Then I have to find the time to take it up to Sac to get tuned. But before I do that gotta replace the starter. No time since i started a new job last week. I'm hoping to have it running by early December. Car's been sitting for nearly a month now...

Must be in the tune because if I am not mistaken the LSA on that cam is like 122 so it should idle like stock just like it does on the Corvette.

theres quite a few things in the cal that can be causing this issue, find a good local tuner and they should be able to fix it.
