Friday Night Drags (10) Rocky Mountain Stick Shifters

It would be totally wild to have the group all show up the same night and play.
Sounds like fun to me! The drag strip should be resurfaced by the 7/15/2011 date. (it is the straight away for the road course)

Back when I was still doing the racing thing we would only see 100 to 125 cars so you get a LOT of runs in a day. Check here for the real details.

That would be a great time.

I'd also like to pitch the Douglas Motorsports Park track in Wyoming. Larry and Tom came up once in 2009. The Rocky Mountain Stick Shift race is June 4th. Full schedule at: http://www.douglasmotorsportspark.com/ I know it's a bit of a drive for you southern folk but nice to support multiple tracks so we can keep them going. Billings track was shut down all last year. Hope to avoid losing Wyoming's only track.

1st Wednesday night Test-n-tune (Colorado State Patrol "Take it to the Track" Night) is April 27th. I'm planning on doing the "Tech and Test" on Saturday, April 9th to test out the new driveline and tire/wheel setup before Camaro5fest. I'd have done this Friday, but waiting on driveshaft to install with tranny that's impatiently waiting in Laramie.

Okay, okay...... so I'm the impatient one .....Joe knows the feeling

Anybody else doing the 4/9 "Tech and Test"?
I'll be there on the 9th to get a tech card, weather permitting of course. Waiting for my NHRA number to show up. Should be good at all tracks and save me from having to buy a track number at each of them.

Like Larry, I'm hoping to make most or all of the stick shift class races this year. Just to bring some annoyance to those 10, 11 and low 12 second cars who will be watching my tail lights leave the line for a couple seconds before getting their green.

Now if gas prices will just go back down we'll be all set!

Quick reference chart for NHRA safety rules.
http://www.nhra.com/competition/etquickref.aspx

Found out that I will need a Bellhousing for the flywheel and clutch.
SFI 6.1

Garth, Ted, Don, Joe....and others doing builds...Dont forget to do it while its apart or you are installing the clutch. Also make sure to have your SFI ratings on your clutch in your logbook for tech inspections.

I think this is the part we need..not sure will be checking Monday.

Larry i was under the impression that the bell housing was integral to the 6060 thats why i was advised to go with a t56 for my 69 project. You can probably use a tranny blanket type shield. You might want to check.

All this money to keep us safe. I do not know what it runs for a clutch and bell housing for a Camaro. I spent $3200 for a clutch and $1500 for a bell housing for one of my other projects. We gotta pay if we wanna play.

It is better than getting your feet cut off on a clutch explosion and then coming to the dark side and have to drive an automatic.

I went with the Spec Super Twin as did Joe. Garth and Ted went with the zr1 clutch. Both are about the same cost. 1300 or so.
Dont forget to order and install a bellhousing at the same time...just sayin..

You will love a new clutch with that power big time.

If you can find anything that says that please let us know...thanks..

Blanket is SFI4.1 which does not meet standards. Its got to be a SFI 6.1 rating.

Edit..what am I thinking. Bellhousing is for the Clutch and flywheel not the tranny.
