GM PART #22842515 Availability ???

I recently ordered the following GM parts from PartsTaxi.com (Lewes Automall):

Front Sway End Link (SS, ZL1, 1LE) (passenger side) - 22842515
Front Sway End Link (SS, ZL1, 1LE) (drivers side) - 22842516.

Apparently there is a problem with P/N 22842515 where you get P/N 22842516 in a box labeled P/N 22842515. They refunded my money and told me the part has been on back order at least six months and every time they try to order a set of end links, they end up with with two 22842516s. Sounds like they just gave up trying to order the part. There is some info about this in post #10 of this thread.

Has anyone one ordered this part lately and actually got the right one? Or does anyone have any info on this situation? My local dealer is clueless as usual. LOL

So nobody has upgraded a 2010-11 to GM ZL1 or 1LE front sway bar in the last six months?

I ordered one of the 1LE "takeoff" sets from Ofer. Comes with both links already. Noticed on the website picture that the links have different color factory paint (tape?) marks indicating they're for different sides. So I'm expecting them to be correct.

What I don't get is that you're getting the same part under two different part numbers. Apparently GMSPO system has monkeys working there too and don't know what they're doing when the part is boxed and p/n label applied. Not everything is perfect. Your dealer or Parts taxi should be calling GMSPO and alerting them to the issue. They'll look into it and hopefully fix it. Ran into this issue years ago when ordering dual exhaust pipe hangers, R&L with two different part numbers. Ordered a pair and got two of the same side hanger with two different part numbers!

3 months and 3 wrong parts is ridiculous. I got the impression from the girl I talked to at Lewes Automall (PartsTaxi.com) That they tryed to fix the problem but still kept getting the wrong part so they just gave up and won't even order it.

I did find a GM dealer in New York that lists two 22842515 parts in stock and bought one. I figure even if I get the wrong one I need it anyway. Guess I will know next week.

Wanted to thank you for the above info. Gen5DIY definitely has a lot to Ofer LOL. I emailed 2SSRS and he got me fixed up with a pair of 1LE front end links today. Should have them the beginning of next week.

I know this is an old thread, but this just happened to me from Partstaxi.com, and i just went to my local Chevy Dealer and they same thing happened there as well. Luckily i had my extra part so we would play and compare with the other parts to make sure i had the correct parts for the drivers side and and passenger side.

Problem is we were in the middle of doing the replacement, and so i have one ZL1 front end link and one V6 link... hope to get it fixed right in the next few days.

Depending on the year, it's where the sway bars connect to the lower control arms.

I don't know about the V6's, but I know the early SS Camaro's had the FE3 suspension which had the sway bars connect to the LCA's "inside" the spring/strut assembly, whereas the FE4 suspension has it connect on the outside (closer to the wheel). The FE4 bars are longer, and the endlinks are different.

Yea, these were for the fronts. From my V6, the new links were thicker, and we had to drill to make the new ones fit, I can pull from another post. But the bolt from the V6 was a size 10, and for the new one its a size 12, if that makes any sense.

Looks like you might need to upgrade from what I'm reading. I'm sure more guys could give you better information. I'm a chick trying to self education myself about all this! Definetly learning stuff the hard way though, but I've been doing lots of research here on the boards and talking to my guys! lol BTW, my car now handles like a dream now! And I'll get to test her out this weekend at an AutoCross event to get ready for C5 Fest!

And depending on how your tire setup is, is the way you will need to choose which sway bars your want to go with. I orginally wanted the 1LE sway bars, but since i have a staggered set up, i had to go with the ZL1 sways.

1LE Bars: 27 mm front and 28mm rear
After Market some of our guys have gone with: 27mm front and 32mm rear (Staggered Set Up)
