Yep....webcast was a little lame. Glad I didn't make a special trip to see it in person. The spec sheet was way more exciting.

Severely let down by webcast... They spent more time talking up their other models than talking about the Camaro, and we didn't even get to see an SS or anything up close.

Do you think he screwed up when he said production begins Feb 16? That would be quite a wait, say mid summer, before we could get one.

The car looked great but the reveal was a little disappointing. I agree, no SS shown? What's up with all the GM sites having the cartoon cars up? The colors give you a decent general on what it will look like, but it would have been better with the real car. I have some mixed emotions on this...When the concept came out, we learned it wasn't coming for like 2 more years. Then we get all the hype about the reveal, for a 10 min. PR video. We finally get the specs to see the thing weighs a metric ton. I have a creepy feeling the SS is going to run about $35-38,000.

Nah, they only take a day or two to build start to finish, then out the door and on their way...March or April still makes sense....

Thumbs down

VERY DISAPPOINTED...not in the car, but in the unveiling itself.

not sure if anyone caught the very beginning where they were mentioning how great a day it was not only for us here in north america for the launch of the camaro; but over seas for the launch of the Invicta...

they then cut to a beautiful outside setting with the Invicta being dropped from the sky with a band playing in the forefront and hundreds of people standing in amazement watching it.

we get an RS driving into 'Bill's garage' with little fanfare at all. terrible interior shots...no opening of the engine bay...no revving the engine...and only one car.

apparently, GM has forgotten how special an unveiling can be...or should i say SHOULD BE! i would guess they had a pretty big audience watching it live and will have an even bigger audience watching the rebroadcasts.

this is not the way the car should have been launched.

i watched the live launch of the 09 Vibe a bunch of months back and it was 10 times better. why couldn't the camaro launch be as exciting as that???

too bad cause the car is gonna rock.

in person they were able to get a "closer look", which was showed as them crowding around the car probably for a hands on look.

I was disappointed with the unveiling as well. car looked beautiful though.

Problems:

1. The presentation was way too short. only 10 minutes, and half of those minutes talking about other cars.
2. Brought in an RS but didn't reveal any of the RS features. didn't show the taillights, nor the passenger side (gas cap door is bland I know, but I would have at least liked to see it.)

also, the PDF brochure and ignition video both show a HUD. Both say the Camaro shown is the concept and subject to change. Why do that? You KNOW poeple are going to see that and expect to see it on the production car, yet it's been "officially" cut from the production model. What gives? I don't care about the HUD, but I do know a lot of people are going to bitch and it may even be deal breakers because of the suprise.

Quite disappointed ... we need the Z28 NOW!

I'd be sad to be forced to go to the GT500

Can SOMEBODY buy some LIGHT BULBS for the garage so I can see the damned car already? Nothing like looking into a BLACK interior in a DARK GARAGE! Come on guys! This is the same company that brought us the Motorama extravaganza's of the 50's? WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON OVER THERE? Ed, when you get into the car, turn the key to the ACC position so we can see the lighting. Where was the SHOW in the SHOW?

#1, those are estimated numbers. And you always estimate low, so as not to raise and then dash the hopes of a customer. If I were to bet, I'd place money on 27mpg...not that it would make a difference above 26.

#2, this car also has 300hp with those 26/27 mpg. In 2002, you had to settle for 200hp.

There isn't a noticeable difference between 27 and 29. you might be talking a couple hundred dollars a year......

Yeah, I was dissapointed... It's nice to see how excited they were. But, Didn't really have the effect the Concept reveal did. Ah well, Good news is we've got the information we've been waiting for and it's all good news so far!!!
