Technostalgia LED Tail Lights

My new Technostalgia LED tail lights arrived yesterday and being installed tomorrow. Can't wait to see them in action. They really look good in the box and the instructions do look complete for a DIY installation. Will try to do some pictures, video when completed!!

I've got them on my C5 and have had them what will be a year this month now that I think about it. Really nice, bright and the rapid flash brake function keeps those behind you on their toes if not off your butt. Install is easy and I might add if you're thinking of painting your bezels this is a good time to do it since they'll be out for this install. You can always push them back in once dry and the install is complete.

Hope you have better luck with them than I did.
Could not get them to work. Sent them back over two months
ago and still have not got replacements.

I know when I installed mine, mine didn't work but that was because I had the wrong plugs hooked up, just being in a hurry to see them work. Once I re-did the connections it was all good. I did have one that fogged up but I contacted Todd who replaced it immediately by sending me a new one and me sending the fogged one back. Its been all good for me with them. I suggest contacting Todd at todd@cool-leds.com and tell him what's going on.

I also went direct with Technostalgia to get my lights over the onsight vendors as they had huge delays and I had no wait time going with them direct. Just sayin'.......

Mine worked without a hitch and they look very cool. Hope you have tiny hands though, install is a little tough, not much room to manuever.

I found having some latex gloves on helps. Also on the those bezels, hit the top tabs first, then the inner tabs and then bottoms. I found if you sort of push gently and allow them to move on their own they'll pop out. Once you have the first one done the rest come easy. Also if you have a plastic pry tool it helps to create a little space and pressure to release the tabs. The Beyatch is the outer nuts, trying to get those on and off without dropping one which I did. The latex helps with securing a better finger tip grip and starting it on the stud.

I am doing it myself. I enjoy projects such as this. It gets me out of the house and in the garage. I will get the music going or listen to KY play and I will be find. I also have a wood stove in the detached garage so if I need a break, I will just sit in my chair in front of the stove and have a cold suds....As long as I limit myself on the drinks, it should go good...Keep your fingers crossed!

@dodojoe - I love mine, they are awesome, and the install is a little harder on the Vert due to the outer nuts on each side and the confined working space compared to the coupe.

I would suggest that you read my notes on the bezel removal or watch a video on it. They are really very easy if you approach them correctly. If you don't do your homework, you will waste far more time working on them.

How did you all wire the show mode? It says to use a .5 amp SPST switch. Did you all find one that size or is it ok to use a higher amp switch? Thanks for responding.

I initially went to Pepboys and got a switch that I had in my trunk to hit when I would do car shows, I could just flip it and it was all good but I ended up wiring it to my wireless remote for my DRLs and other show lights and now with the press of a button they come on or off. You can test the Show Mode by touching the green wire that will be remaining from the harness to any metal on the car and the show lights will activate.
