Since this got bumped, I'll give an update. We haven't been racing since its been over 100 out here. Might go next weekend since I ordered her a bama tune. See how much the bama tune knocks off her ET.

Didn't go last night because of the threat of rain. We did get the tune in and I loaded the 91 Race Tune. Wife said there wasn't much of a difference, and when I did a WOT on it the 1-2 shift was over 2 seconds. Read on the internet that you have to disconnect the battery to reset computer values to get rid of that. Going to test it today and hopefully its fixed now.
Real reason I posted though, forgot I had taken this picture last time we were at the track. This was just after we got there and were waiting for tech inspections. |

Without knowing what kind of tree the track uses it's hard to say when to go but if it's a standard one with 3 yellows then green, go on the 3rd yellow (assuming you staged with two lights showing). Avoid spinning the tires. As for the Camaro, many of the tips given in the Mustang article may apply. I wouldn't bother removing the spare or the subwoofer in the Camaro as I don't see it helping much. In all honesty, if you're looking for big HP gains, go to V8's or cheaper, superchargers/twin turbos, dynotunes and gears for the Mustang. Good luck.

3.73's and a posi are the next upgrades on the list. After that we will have to decide. Still need to see what the tune did for her times though. We try to leave on the 3rd light, but sometimes I have to catch my old man nap. Heard that the track prep isn't the greatest at Thunder Valley. We may take a trip out to the Tulsa track to see what we can do there one time. Yeah, but we needed rain very badly. I had given up on trying to keep my grass green. Can't wait till November when the temps are really down. You should do it, my wife loves it. Track guys will warn you about beating her all the time though, happy wife / happy life kind of thing. Would be one hell of a race though, but I would pull for the Corvette, its an awesome looking car. |

Awesome. My wife has a 2012 5.0 with a bunch of mods but I can't get her to race it.

This is cool! My boyfriend and I have raced my RS against his SS at Tulsa Dragway. May take them to Thunder Valley this fall. Right now we are looking at doing Hallett (I may do this for him for his birthday). At least there it won't be such a spanking, haha. I'm not match for is SS even though I kill him on reaction time. It's a lot of fun no matter who wins!
And I've raced and spanked several brand new V6 Mustangs at the track, too. I probably enjoy it more than I should

We went to the track last night and it was not a good night. Our first run we could only go one at a time and the computer didn't print off our slips. But we did get 3 full runs in, but the last one took forever since cars kept breaking on the track. The DA for our first 2 runs was 3584 and the last one was 3208. Don't know what was up, but both of our times were off. The Mustang now has a Bama tune with 91 race loaded. Wife said it shifted harder this time racing, but on the 2nd run the over rev light came on and she backed off the throttle when it was shifting into 3rd. We will see what happens in a month, hopefully the weather will be better.
Did get some videos this time though. This is the first 2 runs as seen in my Camaro. My car was so fast on the 2nd run it entered warp speed (don't know why the camera went out of focus). This is my wife's run. I told her not to do the whole rev'ing thing right before green. One day I am going to get a GoPro camera and also have some one in the stands record us racing together. |

Pretty good time, what time of the night was he running? Think maybe we were off our game yesterday. We will try again though, its a fun time. I also want to get my wife into the 14's before the year is out, then over the winter look into doing 3.73 gears.

3.73's should help a lot! Your mustang would be solid 14 second car in San Antonio and run some 14's even in Tulsa, much better prep and DA there. |
