I put $15,000 down on mine. Financed just over $17,000 for 5 years and my payments are $270 a month.

No number anyone gives will have an relevance 3 yrs down the road and not knowing what you will want to buy. New used or what.

Want cheap payments. Save up the 14k and in 3yrs buy a 2011 used SS in cash. No payments...

I'd rather not say what my note is. I had to finance some serious negative equity from my trade in. I wanted it bad enough so I got it. Been wanting one before they came out. I finally said screw it and I couldn't wait anymore. I only put $500 down too. Yes it's over $600 but under $700

My advice is don't finance a car less than 2 yrs old since it will probably depreciate faster than your payments. I started saving in 2006 when the SEMA concept pictures came out, and finally got it in April with no loan.

Sounds as if you have a good head on your shoulders....glad to see that you are re-evaluating whether or not you can afford one. I see too many young kids on this site that don't take the time to crunch the numbers or are reluctant to heed them! Your time will come

My car payment on my 2LT/RS was $562.00 a month. I don't even wanna know what it would have been if I had bought a SS. Good luck to ya!

The more you put on the down payment, the lower the monthly payments and the more you can afford for mods. I've been saving for a long time. I will not be financing. I could have financed a 3rd gen, or a 4th gen. But in hindsight, I'm glad I didn't.
