Noisy lifter?

Has any one had an issue with lifter noise when the car is started first thing in the morning? Mine has been noisy a few times in the morning just for a few seconds like maybe 10 then it quits and no other issues.

I've been meaning to ask about the same thing, but the posts I've read from searching range from "serious problem" to "normal". In any case, my car is an L99, oil changed by dealer (blended synthetic as recommended), and it sounds like a typewriter with some high pitch whine intermittently.

I bought the car used with 4000 miles it was serviced by the dealer so I'm thinking it is probably a synthetic maybe Mobil 1. It's an automatic so L99? I have no whining noise just ticking. more frequent on cold mornings too

Do a search under "lifter noise". Lots of info there including a GM technical notice re the problem.
Get your car back to the dealer for warranty lifter replacement.
