APC, an old toothbrush and a lot of elbow grease.

Hot or warm water with a rag. Not boiling water though. A little elbow grease.
A tooth brush will work too

Would you happen to have a small steamer like your wife might use to clean around the kitchen and bathroom ? Those little tea pot sized units will blow the old wax out of cracks and from behind trim and emblems without scratching anything. If not go buy one and after using it tell your wife/gf/mom you got it just for her.

APC and a stiff nylon bristled brush will make quick work of it.

Save the Peanut Butter for sandwiches.

I have a video of the entire process using Adams APC and a mother's brush on my YouTube channel.
