Hi Twizzty - just responded to your PM but in case anyone else is interested:

I actually sold the car but did have enough experience to recommend it.

- I never had any trunk deformation but I did add a piece of weather stripped at the bumper where the trunk meets it. There was enough downforce that it was rubbing there. It's possible I could have adjust the stops to prevent this perhaps, but I didn't want to damage the finish on the bumper so I just added the strip there to make sure.
- The wing itself is pretty darn beefy so no worries about it holding up to track use.
- It doesn't hit anything when the trunk is open but it is fairly heavy so you should be wary when opening and closing so as to not put too much strain on the mechanism

I would likely do it again if I had to choose... the price to performance ratio is tough to beat and the adjustability is great. Of course, it looks bad ass/intimidating/over the top depending on your point of view too. I had mine painted flat black to more or less match the wheels.

Finally got around to installing it this weekend. The new wang has an extra rear mounting tab and different end plates but overall it mounts the same, install was easy even without instructions.(followed the ones here, thanks oneplustwo)

Here's me and my buddies car at COTA in 2022. He has the swan mount. Both cars are SS 1LEs ABM.

My first time seeing this brand. They are, indeed, big wings.

My Wang Kit

I know it’s not a 6th Gen but it’s a big wang from 9 Lives.

From what I've seen this company is the only one making proper functioning splitters, so I assume their wings are also capable. The stuff from APR is mostly for looks (especially the APR splitter).

I would talk to AJ Hartman Aero. He doesn't have off-the-shelf parts for Camaros, but what he makes for a couple other cars is well tested (lots of CFD time and some actual wind tunnel time) and extremely functional, and he can do some custom stuff and/or consult for someone. If enough Camaro owners demonstrate interest, I'm sure he'd make something to keep in stock.

Nice 5th gen!

What are those rear window fins that say improved? I've been looking for something like that for the 6th gen but all I get is a sea of louvers when searching.

9-lives has the market cornered as far as price point goes. Most people aren't willing to shell out $4000 on a carbon wing. They'll take a chance on an aluminum wing that can be had for around $1000 though. You can get them cheaper if you can do a little fab work yourself and buy the parts in a kit. I have the 9-lives V1-V2 kit which adds a second element to their base kit. The piece is much smaller than I anticipated it being, but it's well made.

Just curious as to what people have done regarding testing of their wings? Back to back with data?

I got them years ago from Aero Sport Concepts not sure if they made a set for 6 Gens.

It doesn't look like they're in business anymore, that sucks. Thanks for letting me know though, much appreciated.

You nailed it with the price point and quality of work/product at that price point, I'm also adding a gurney flap(3/4") to mine for that little bit more because why not.

9Lives posts their CFD on the website and from my limited testing(butt g meter) you can absolutely feel the difference in high speed corners.

I've done some dynamic testing on my own car. All I can say is that MOST of the CFD data you see is from clean air hitting the wings, and in reality the air hitting your wing is not the same. If your windows are down, if you're turning sharply, if you have front aero, etc, all of the results are skewed.

The butt-meter won't tell you enough. You won't be able to feel a difference between 8 degrees and 10 degrees, but a force gauge will tell you what you need to know.

I figured as the data is wing specific and not car/kit specific but I only use it as a rough guide. I also forgot about the g-meter in the HUD until you mentioned it and will use that next time, thanks.
