Next project - X pipe and 2.5 pipe, need advice

So the next project I'm looking into is getting a resonated X pipe (I've been going back and forth with devildoc getting some advice), and making the rest of the system 2.5

Before I start this I have a few questions. I'm looking at ARH site and are the cats 2.5 inch already or is it the headers that are 2.5? Secondly I can't find out if MRT's axle back is 2.5 or not.

I was talking to my local muffler shop, who said that they can do this but he said it would be best if I got the x pipe and various other pipes, especially if they were made for the Camaro, that way they wouldn't have to custom make anything. If anyone was advice or suggestions, please feel free to let me know.

quick blurb. The LS3 and L99 stock V8 camaro system are both 2.5" with the difference being the mufflers, I'm sure you knew that. So if you can find a stock system on ebay or on here for cheap, that's a bonus. A magnaflow resonated X is about $80-85 on certain sites. Replace the stock H pipe with that if you must have a X pipe. I never even tried just running the BBK headers through the stock H pipe, I should have, but didn't. And I am not even sure, but think the MRT V1 is a axle back system right? You should be able to cut the stock V8 pipes off at the rear and weld up the MRT onto them. Good luck

I think Nick can answer this better, but I am sure the cats are 2.5".

That's pretty much what I had done. I also had the h-pipe replaced with ARH's x-pipe.

guess I could have answered the initial question. The pipes are the same diameter across the board up until immediately after the stock H pipe, this is where the V8's continue on as 2.5" and the V6's reduce to 2.25". So my initial suggestion of finding a V8's stock exuast if you want 2.5" is based on that. The bends and extra clearance things are all there already, but in 2.5" form.

Just follow bmwdon's advice.........LMAO

Because that's pretty much what my shop did for my car, except I didn't buy a resonated x-pipe.
