I've never used my car insurance or my gun, but I'm not getting rid of either just b/c I've not had to use them.

When mine expires I'll be keeping mine. I don't know if I'll go for navigation, but it is nice to have and also gives insurance discounts.

I kept mine. It's not expensive and if you do need it it's nice to know it's there.

I get the basic plan free from State Farm (Safe and Sound) and that includes the cell phone, which is pretty cool.
I used the full plan pretty often, but I don't really miss it now that it's gone.

I never used the navigation. Navigon GPS on my iPhone is more convenient and clearly more graphical.
During my free six months, which expired in March, I used it to start my car with the iPhone app a handful of times, when it was Really cold and I could not see my car from a window. I appreciated it then, but they did not offer me a big enough discount to keep it.

$28.90/month is obscene for what you get.

consider yourself lucky its $28.90/month. Here in Canada we are once again being ripped off by GM.The same plan here is $39.90/month..... thanks but NO THANKS.... I let my onstar lapse and during the trial period did not use it once. In fact, when I picked up my vert after purchase, the dealership asked if I wanted an onstar demonstration...I told them no thanks... |

With JUST their Safe and Sound plan you can STILL send directions to the car from their mobile app. Tell 'em you want to cancel and they will offer you a decent deal. Think I got 18 months for like 160.

I had it on other cars, and just thought it was cool that I had it, so I kept it much longer than I should have. When I figured out how much I used it, in comparison to how long I kept it, the price per call I made was in the hundreds of dollars. Let's pretend it costs $250.00/year and you keep renewing it for a total of four years. Then, let's also pretend, that during the four years you made two phone calls. They each cost you $500.00!! For people who talk a lot, I would definitely keep it as it's safer than holding a phone, and it would be worth it. For people like me, who don't use a phone much, I would never buy it again. Save your money.
