A cam that will give solid torque numbers
Hey guys we all know that 500hp is a awesome number. With all the solid cam choices out there my mind starts to spin. But one thing that I keep thinking about is just how heavy this car is and how valuable torque is to get her rolling. I would give up a little top end hp for more grunt under the curve. Does anyone have experience with a solid torque monster cam?

Vengeance Racing cam 439 to at the wheels. Not sure where that stands. I changed the gears right before I put the cam in. The gears helped tremendously down low.

Get some 3.91 gears and that low end torque will take care of itself. It's a good compliment to most cams. I hear the nightfury cam is impressive.

Exactly! Getting the smaller gear gives you a lot more room to play with in your new cam. The smaller gear you go with, the lower in the band you'll hit the peak power in the curve. I think anyone that wants to remain N/A should do gears or the gear/cam combo.

Honestly its a pretty big cam but if you study the torque curve of the Night Fury cam its pretty impressive. If someone would post a graph for a LS3 car you will see what I mean. That cam is probably not going to drive like stock or anything but its torque production looks to be more than the smaller cams even at lower RPM's.

Gears first....then the Cam.
Lots of Cams that will hook ya up, but the gear selection will definitely help it out exponentially. Hook ya up a set of 3.91's and roll out. Ivan |

Its actually an old grind. 226/236 I believe with .525 lift. Its on a tight 110 seperation which is the main reason for the torque. Doesn't make big #s up top though.
