Front Ground Effects Lip Problem

Hello Everyone!

This is my first post as I have just signed up here. I am a proud owner of a fully optioned out 2010 Camaro 2SS/RS. There are a few pictures of it below. I have a problem tho and am wondering if I can find my answer here. The front GFX piece came loose in the center under normal highway wind loads and was dragged for miles before I brought her home and noticed it. It was hanging down in the middle and worn through. It was still attached on the sides because of the clips and bolts but all the double stick adhesive was only stuck to the GFX piece, not the front fascia. I've been working with the dealership when I can to figure this dilema out. Well last night I met another 2010 SS owner with GFX and he said his are the "new design" his were not on his car, as they were being painted black to match his black car. He said his does not have a "underbelly" like mine did. And it is attached differently. As far as I can tell from looking at the dealership installation manual for the GFX, mine were installed properly to GM specs. Well that's fine, but it doesn't work!!! I've heard that others on this board are starting to have the same problem.

Can anyone shed some light on this topic for me???

i ain't heard about that problem, but if it continues to be a problem with more cars, i'd say there'll be some kind of redesign.

Thank You!

Also I guess I could add it is a LS3 M6 in case anyone was wondering. Also I just picked up my painted engine cover from the dealer that just came in. Apparently they discontinued this option after so many were produced? Guess I got lucky!

Thank you! and very cool, Keep an eye on the front piece if it shows any signs of coming off. Mine didn't have any signs, but 70mph took 'er down. :(

Funny you mention that...

This car was randomly selected to have QC performed on it leaving the factory. Well this never happened before they shipped it to the dealership. The dealership never received the invoice from the factory for this reason...didn't figure this out for over a week! I ended up getting in touch with someone at Chevrolet His secretary found the problem and told me they would send a car hauler to pick the car up from the dealership and take it to a local facility to have the QC tests done. I told them to pull another car off the factory lot and test that one because I wanted to take delivery of my car! They "couldn't do that" apparently, and my car was gone somewhere for two days. Finally took delivery after the car sat at the dealership in a bay for almost two weeks!!! I know that has nothing to do with the GFX because it is a dealer installed option but it was a tiring hassle. I was bascially fighting with GM to give them $43k. Haha.

Also, I couldn't agree more with your signature. I too had many problems with the customer service I received. Not to mention my car had 49 miles on it when it arrived at the dealership...

This is the second one Ive heard of the front GFX coming off and getting ruined. Apparently the dealer in the first instance skipped out on some adhesive in the middle and it did the same thing as yours.

Id ask your dealer about it for sure.
