Coolant Temps
What does yall's coolant temps run at on a daily street driven basis? track?
I have some concern that my 15' w/ 2000miles on it, is running too hot just driving around town. It is fluxing between 210-220deg f, same with the oil temp. Last edited by 1LEdabeast1LE; 07-15-2015 at 01:31 PM. |

Mine sits on 192-194 on the open road. In heavy traffic it will climb until it hits 217 and the electric fans come on and cool it down to the 190's or so and they shut off - then the coolant cycles back to 217 and the fans kick on again.

PCM of North Carolina makes a fan wiring kit for our cars
Easy install and you can turn them on low and high speed way before 217 |

Use a 160* thermostat for the summer & put stock thermostat back on for winter DD for the northern states

Or you can put on a 180 degree thermostat and never take it off : ) Not that the temps you are hitting are any problem, though. Your engine is designed to keep oil close to 212 degrees F.
