That kid did a good job cleaning it. I also watch him take a new brush out of the package so I wasn't to worried. I'll probably scratch it more myself cleaning it.

Same goes for even my garden variety 5.0 ...
Stocks overrated...

Hurst Shifter

I ordered and installed the Hurst Shifter kit. I liked the shift knob that came with the car but always liked the ball knobs. I had a Red Hurst ball knob in my 4th gen SS and took it out before I sold it. I was hoping it would be a direct fit replacement, that wasn't the case. Once I received the Hurst Shifter kit in the mail I noticed that my red ball knob wouldn't fit on that either. i had to make a custom adapter (from a rod coupling that I threaded to 16 mm) It all fits and I have my old knob installed. Lot of work just to keep my old knob.

The Hurst Shifter came with a badge. I like the Hurst Badge but the orange on the one half of the H bothered me. So I broke out the hobby paint and painted it red. Then I sprayed it with two coats of clear.

L.E.D DTRL and Fog Lights from Oracle

I knew before my car arrived that I wanted to upgrade the daytime running lights and the fog lights. Orcale had a great deal, the install was easy and I think they look great.

Agreed, I put the white one in just to see how it would look. It gives it that old school look, but the red is perfect.

The Windshield

About a month after I got the car I was heading to Walkins Glen race track to do some pace laps with the Upstate C5 crew. Heading up the hill to the track our right feet got the better of us and my buddy who was in front of me kicked up a stone. Of course it hit my windshield and chipped it. I called my insurance company the next day to get it replaced. I had glass coverage with a zero deductible but when I told them I wanted OEM glass they informed me I didn't have "OEM Replacement Coverage". I have never heard of this before and I wasn't happy with my insurance company for not telling me about it. I had to make a deal to pay the difference between the aftermarket glass and the OEM one (90 bucks) but it all worked out. I do have OEM coverage now...

Who ever heard of OEM windshield coverage being extra? I always thought that's what they replace it with, OEM!

Love the Red Hurst knob mod! very cool!

I know right! As soon as the insurance agent told me that I was thinking to myself "you have got to be f*^king kidding me!" I do love the new shifter, it's like a fine bold action rifle now.
