That means the zl1 will do 0-60 in less than 3.9 seconds, he said the fastest car under 75k. The gs coupe is 55k and does 0-60 in 3.9.

Actually Jay first says "Under 100" then quickly says "Under 75". It was just a number he quickly pulled out of the air. Geez, calm down people. GM will price it against its competition.

Jedi, you are on target with this one. For mid 60's you can have a CTS-V, and for under $75 you can get it loaded. No need to talk about the pampering the CTS-V would provide. Have you seen the drivers "seat extensions" that are available on it? They make the seat under your thigh extend further out to support your legs on those long trips! A nice touch.

i'm MADLY in love with my SS... And I honestly would have waited for the ZL1 if I had any idea on pricing, and if I'd been able to get a similar TF3 package on it. The ZL1 in a TF3 woulda been a dream come true - but even without the package, I imagine the ZL1 pricing is gonna be way higher and doing aftermarket appearance mods would have just hiked the price up more. I am stoked that my interior is pretty identical to teh ZL1 layout

But every time I see pictures and read threads I think, DAMN shoulda waited!!! lol

I have a feeling the base is gonna be pretty close to 50. My 2SS was a little over 40 around invoice fully loaded and with the CTH (which included the RS package in the pricing). I would imagine there'll be a decent gap between a base ZL1 and a fully loaded 2SS to get the demographic that is really looking for that higher performance.

Sorry to tell you, but I need it to start about $55 in order to get it for $60 out the door with the Automatic, sales tax, and GGuzzler tax. Never mind the Polished rims, Carbon Fiber Hood, "First Place Finish" the dealer adds, and whatever that make it approach high 60's........

As much as I'd like to have a happy face I'm nervous.

But, here's to da troops! :flag2:

No he said 75k because that's the cost of a z06, and the zl1 will not be faster than the z06!

Jay was clearly not told prior what to say or what not to say in the video, nor was Mark..
Even the 177MPH was pulled out of the air, and he was not 100% certain that the car has 20 inch wheels... Jay even thought Mark was the one that made the Ring times in the car...
The $75k figure is non relative...
Calm down people...
Take the video for what it was.... Don't try to read into it something that is was not...
End of rant... (hopefully)
To "Keep the faith" one must "TRUST in the Faith"
Some people are showing they cannot do that very well.......

...take a chill.... Pricing will be affordable... relax.....

I'm not so sure there are a large number of potential ZL1 customers that GM can count on based solely on brand loyalty, especially at likely ZL1 prices. I think there is a relatively limited market for a Camaro with an MSRP over $50K, and with each $1K price increment over $50K, the pool of potential Camaro buyers shrinks. I think that there are many potential ZL1 buyers who are Chevy loyalists who will be stretching to make the purchase with a price in the the low to mid $50K's, and if it's priced much beyond that, those buyers will be forced to purchase a different vehicle.

There are the potential ZL1 buyers who can afford the vehicle at whatever price, but are wiling to (or who have a boss that will let them) pay only so much for a Camaro (remember the difficulty there was in selling the 9560 COPOs). Of those buyers, those who want a 2+2 vehicle will not purchase a Corvette. Some may purchase a CTS-V, but some will likely purchase a GT500, and I think that many will opt for a Porsche, BMW, or Mercedes.

There are some Chevy enthusiasts who won't buy a Ford, and vice-versa, but I think those individuals make up a very small percentage of the automobile buying public. One may tend to get a skewed view of those loyalist percentages if one tends to frequent enthusiast sites.
I agree, to a point, that the ZL1 may attract buyers who might have otherwise never considered a Camaro, but I still contend that a bulk of buyers will be GM loyalists. I imagine the market will be similar to what was seen with the GT500 a few years back. While there were some crossover buyers, especially after the first couple of years of production, the VAST majority of people who bought them were Ford/Mustang diehards. Same happened with the Challenger. Of course, the economic situation was different then, so it's a shame that GM waited so long to get this car into production, as the economy is sure to have an effect on how many buyers there are for this car.

I'd like to see how their brains are ticking. I'm just not seeing what it seems like they might be seeing. I don't have a real pulse on the market, but I wonder how many buyer would laugh at the thought of a +$60K CAMARO...
Probably as many that laughed at the idea of a $45K Mustang back in 2006/2007? Didn't seem to keep Ford from selling them like hotcakes though.

I just did a search for it and it's understandably gone but found a thunder gray Chromaflair with 514 miles for $56999. It's no black diamond but still nice. Here's the link: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false
You were lucky to get out of that one. I have waited almost two years for this car. Another month or so will not matter at this point.
