What's this One owner 1980 Z28 Worth ?

Ok this is a trick Question but I am interested in Knowing the answer.

This is a one owner 30,000 mile beauty that I bought Brand New in 1979 after I graduated High School. (Yes, I am Old so no Old man Jokes please.)

It is Charcoal Metallic Gray ( first year for That color) with Oyster cloth interior, Roll Up Windows, original paint and interior, auto Trans. Only A few minor Mods.

Wow, that is one Bad Azz Z28, I would not sell it if I was you, I miss my 81 Z28, mine was a 350 all Stock, fully loaded with T-Tops and 52,000 original and I got $8,500 for mine, so I know yours is worth much more.

Hmm hard to say as there aren't many cars with that low of miles and that are that clean all around. Again I don't know how accurate this is but I'd say 22k. Head over to nastyz28.com for better 2nd gen experts and they can give you a price!!

Who said no more Z28's I was tired of waiting !

I have dropped the Front two inches since these pics were taken. The motor is a Hand Built LS3 With Forged Bottom End and Magnusun TVS2300 supercharger pushing around 10lbs of boost. It's an absolute beast ! it will blow the doors off my 652HP 2010 SS/RS Any Day.

Its ready to Go ZL1 Hunting as soon as they let them out of Their cage....

No disrespect to the ZL1 or it's owners...was just a joke. I am all for the new kick azz camaro line up....let there be more. When I bought this car, I thought the Camaro was dead. A whopping 190 hp.

Boy was I wrong....they just keep getting better and better. Camaro's forever !

The later years 2nd Gens are becoming very desireable. I have seen some great cars that were well priced from 17-22K. I think yours is easily north of 25K for a quick sale but I would quess say 32K - 45K. Hope for your sake following your build that you do not decide to sell it but if you do let us know cuz this car is really sweet!

I'm not an expert but I do own two show winning highly modified 1979 Z28s and for me the later 2nd gens are the best but only after you fix them.

Matching numbers are a big thing when it comes to values of older cars. Did you save the original block and is it the original transmission?

Yes...Block has busted crank...LOL put a 6/71 blower on it many years ago and was to much boost for stock crank, Put another forged short block in it with same 6/71 but kept original block and all original parts. Stock tranny couldn't hold up to the new Blown LS3 took a dump on second pass. Still have it though.

No big deal..i think the car is worth much more set up the way it is now than original. No one would give me 15 g's for it in original condition. I have turned down 45g's for it the way it stands now.

Everybody wants the new stuff. 700 hp vs 190 Hp gee wonder why. No carbs, starts and runs perfect. 700 Ft Lbs of torque right off idle and everything that came on the car originally works in some cases better than new.

Definitely not looking back. If anybody wants to restore a 1980 Z28 i have lots of parts...LOL

That's true, the car is worth more with the set up you have now and although it would be a idiot who would ever want to change it back to original engine and tranny it still nice to have the original parts. Even if they are just collecting dust.
