I am more interested in how much the STOCK block can take. Sure, you can get well over 500 rwhp out of a mustang gt as well, but it sure hell is ill advise unless you build the bottom end up some..rods ect....I am sure that the maro engine, that was not built for F/I will have the same limitations....and we have not even gotten to the drivetrain yet.
All in all though good numbers. Expensive as all out, but good numbers. Heh you could buy a GT500 2010 for what it will cost to get you to those numbers. Hmm on second thought...what I have seen SS's going for here in S. Fla after the mark ups..a GT500 is cheaper ! |

You would think with an extra $8500 you would make more power? |

Interesting thing here is that realistically a Z28 or some other top of the line future camaro would need to be priced in 45-50k bracket - and right now we can spec out a well equipped SS for around 37k compared to about 44k for a challenger and 46k for a GT500.
Good thing is that the SS already has great brakes and handling as standard - so less to worry about there for most "mortals" who wont be doing serious racing and just want more power at their right foot - so adding a supercharger for 8-9k gives you a very nicely specced car while not making you spend much more than you would on the competition All gets down to what you want to spend your $ on. Amazing how many folks are dropping as much as it costs for a supercharger on ground effects and 21' wheels - which are mainly for appearance. I'm looking at this as an opportunity to build what I expected a Z28 to be in installments :-) I have to say that although it does nothing for me personally in terms of looks (it somehow looks depressed) - if you can get it at the actual list price the Mustang GT500 is a lot of value for money

Just for fun lets compare:
http://www.kennebell.net/pricelist/pricelist.htm Kenne Bell C5 inter-cooled kit (Includes CAI, Boost-A-Pump, 38lb injectors, Flash Tuner, 76-93MM inlet) $6999 Complete Inter-cooled kit ($800 for the vette hood can be used on labor) $1,114.95 Borla Catback and X-pipe #140280 ------- $8113.95 installed and would make more power (inter-cooled), add $650 for the polished kit. Do the work yourself (easy) and you can have it a lot cheaper. Whipple could probably offer a kit for even less. I foresee complete 5k-6k kits in the near future.

The one big question, IS IT A FORGED MOTOR? I don't see the power going up or lasting with cast pistons.
