I had the alpine 910 and just upgraded to the 927hd. It is a much better head unit and the navigation is much nicer. If you want to see it in action just youtube the 8" 928hd. They are identical in regards to functionality. I'm thrilled that I made the switch.

Does the 8" 928hd fit in our cars?

It was 1000.00 shipped from double d. Everything about it puts it ahead of the 910. Don't get me wrong the 910 is a nice unit but this one is definitely a few steps above.

As of now, no and I'm not sure if the new kit which is on the horizon will work either. I do however think the 8" in our cars may be over kill.

I now plan on getting the 927hd. I wanted the 928 since they showed it at SEMA last year saying it would fit in double din. Then notice a few weeks ago they have the 927 which is the same but smaller screen for less money. I'm fine with that, I wanted the functions in the first place, not the 8" screen.

For the money of these high end units, I wish the would incorporate the OEM outside temp. Do any head units do that? Whith the OEM thermocouple?

Exactly, as silly as it may be, I like knowing what the temperature is outside, but this unit is the way to go.
