AFM Drone

I'm trying to make a decision this week concerning which exhaust to purchase. I either want the Corsa system or the Solo Mach XLLT kit with J Pipes. I currently have the Flowmaster American Thunder kit and the drone with AFM is unbearable. Without tuning the AFM out, how does the corsa set handle the AFM drone on an automatic V6. The solo kit's J Pipes are supposed to tune out that drone. From anyone that has heard both kits, any advice, comments?
Thanks!

Active Fuel Management, basically the Automatic V8's have a modified version of the LS3 with the ability to turn off 4 of the 8 cylinders when the car is under light load. It's also known as DOD or Displacement on Demand, which I think sounds way cooler.

I bought Solo Performance Mach X-LLT with J-Pipes ready to install next march. Member RickRay has this set up and the sound is great and No More Drone... That's the Solo best advantage. Quality is great and service wirh Steve in tremendous.

So the OP has drone with AFM, yet doesn't have AFM? Lol

BTW, corsa has absolutely zero drone.

yeah that's my fault. I was under the impression the v6 had AFM... didn't do my research. I am just desperate to get rid of the drone (weird resonance that vibrates everything in the car). I get migraines easy and it is driving me up the wall.

No Droning in Corsa.. but at low speeds (8-12MPH), you can hear the exhaust gases go back in, and it causes a slight drone. But hardly noticable, and it's not all the time.

Those that have heard both the Solo and Corsa kits, which one has a deeper growl? Closer to a muscle sound than exotic?

I'll let you know tomorrow. I have a 2011 SS/RS L99 that I am taking to Solo Performance in Mississauga for them to do some testing and update their system. I am currently running the Corsa Catback which I love ,but, they DO allow the AFM/DOD drone when it kicks in.

+1

I know the V6 won't sound like a V8 but I to get as close as a muscle sound as possible. I like the growl from my flowmasters.. but the drone is unbearable.

Since I don't have AFM I guess I just want to make sure I have NO drone whatsoever.. I don't know why I get those horrible vibrations throughout the car with the American Thunders + Magnaflow Resonated X Pipe.

I appreciate everyone's input!
