Aftermarket Mods from Dealership: Is this a good deal?
Aftermarket Mods from Dealership: Is this a good deal?
Today I went back to the dealership after buying a 1SS RJT last Tuesday. I spoke with the aftermarket guy and he was super shifty regarding pricing. I wanted the following done: 1. Buy, paint, install OEM Ground Effects kit. 2. Black out paint in headlight & tail light / lip area in front and rear (ala bumblebee) 3. Paint engine cover to match RJT. 4. Paint White Factory Rally Stripes on Hood and Trunk lid After the guy kept giving me the BS lines of not being able to really work a deal, a manager got involved. The manager realized his aftermarket guy was being inconsistent and shady on the prices and so he said he would do all of the above at cost, meaning all of the above for $4369 + $360.44 sales tax for a total of $4729.00 They broke down the cost as follows: Ground Effects @ $1569.00 Labor @ $400 Paint @ $400 Front and Back blackout painting @ $325 x 2 Engine Cover painting @ $250 Rally Stripes Factory Painted @ $1100 So, is getting all these items done for a grand total of $4729 worth it? Is that a great price, a terrible price, a fair price? I am a total noob so I have no idea. I have until tomorrow to get this deal done. Thanks for your input guys! |

Okay - now I'm confused. One guy says price is ridiculous - RUN! Another guy says price is in line with the marketplace. Another guy tells me to call someone to get a good deal on a new Camaro - LOL - even though I just bought one.
Can somebody help clear this up for me - my head is spinning. LOL |
