Aftermarket Mods from Dealership: Is this a good deal?

Aftermarket Mods from Dealership: Is this a good deal?

Today I went back to the dealership after buying a 1SS RJT last Tuesday. I spoke with the aftermarket guy and he was super shifty regarding pricing.

I wanted the following done:

1. Buy, paint, install OEM Ground Effects kit.
2. Black out paint in headlight & tail light / lip area in front and rear (ala bumblebee)
3. Paint engine cover to match RJT.
4. Paint White Factory Rally Stripes on Hood and Trunk lid

After the guy kept giving me the BS lines of not being able to really work a deal, a manager got involved. The manager realized his aftermarket guy was being inconsistent and shady on the prices and so he said he would do all of the above at cost, meaning all of the above for $4369 + $360.44 sales tax for a total of $4729.00

They broke down the cost as follows:

Ground Effects @ $1569.00
Labor @ $400
Paint @ $400
Front and Back blackout painting @ $325 x 2
Engine Cover painting @ $250
Rally Stripes Factory Painted @ $1100

So, is getting all these items done for a grand total of $4729 worth it? Is that a great price, a terrible price, a fair price? I am a total noob so I have no idea. I have until tomorrow to get this deal done.

Thanks for your input guys!

The deal is so bad that he /they are only given you 24h to get ,and the reasons are that they know you are so happy with the car that you /[they ] know that with in two days you will come to your self and say ,this is no good deal RUN MAN RUN!!!

Okay, so since I am so oblivious to what this should cost, could someone with superior knowlege please tell me how much this should cost?

I have no idea and am really wanting to get a fair deal.

Thanks!

Okay - now I'm confused. One guy says price is ridiculous - RUN! Another guy says price is in line with the marketplace. Another guy tells me to call someone to get a good deal on a new Camaro - LOL - even though I just bought one.

Can somebody help clear this up for me - my head is spinning. LOL

I know you have a Camaro, (I made a typo which I corrected above) what I am talking about is calling a reputable dealer and having them quote you on the accessories and what it would cost to install them. Both Classic Chevrolet and Camaroscotty's dealerships have accessory departments which can help you so you get an idea if you are getting a good deal or not.

I called the Classic Chevy dealer and they are in Dallas and they blew me off.

Does anyone know how much the mods in the OP should cost?

Thanks gang.

Hmm, that's not like them at all.. Sorry about that. I'll have to give Eric a call and let him know how they treated you..
