My Cam, Heads and Coil relocation build almost done
I've been wanting to do a bunch of upgrades for awhile now and just never had the time to get it done. We we're pretty slow a few month back so i had a lot of extra time on my hands. I've had a cam and other parts sitting on my shelf already waiting for me but once i took the car apart i decided to go all the way and get the heads ported too.
The heads took about 5 weeks to return to me and of course we got busy and i couldn't finish the car lol. I'm really close now though and can't wait to finish it. So i did the Heads, Cam, Ported snout, 102mm Throttle body, 18 percent lower pulley, 2.55 upper pulley, and then i decided i didn't like looking at those ugly valve covers and coils. So I'm in the process of relocating them. There's not a lot of good room to mount them anywhere so i thought id mount them under the transmission. I know its not the greatest place especially if i get caught in the rain but i figure i'll take my chances. I'm pretty much in the shop all the time anyway, the car only has 2200 miles on it i don't get out much lol. Let me know what you think.

That really cleaned up the top of the motor. I like the valve covers. Are you not worried about the coils getting damaged down so low?

I took some measurements and the coil bracket is higher then the subframe. The big plastic shield under the engine will actually be lower then the coil bracket.

That explains it. It was a little hard to tell if they were above the subframe. Are you going to have to lengthen all of the wiring?

Yes I had to extend the coil wiring. They don't make a kit for the ZL1 that i know of so i used a kit made for the SS and spliced it into my coil wiring.
