Yeah, we've heard your car with straight pipes. I'm not so sure it sounds like a V8. Although it may sound different in person then from the video.

Which mufflers did you go with? The XR-1s I pointed you to? Borla also makes the S-type, Turbo, Turbo XL, and Boomer series mufflers (and they even make two types of the XR-1, sportsman and raceline, though there seems to be negligible flow difference, just loudness).

And seconded on the vids ASAP.

In all honesty, most of what you pay for a name brand is quality product. A lesser product will still get you results, but they might not be as good. Per horsepower, it will cost substantially less. At the same time, it will not be backed by R&D or a warranty from a reputable company.

The odds are that you will be very happy with your cheaper exhaust. There is always a fluke chance that something will go wrong.

• Cheap
• Fast
• Reliable
• Pick 2

Here, you've chosen cheap and fast. Reliability is up in the air, but the exhaust won't cause your car to blow up, so you're fine.

I also want to encourage everyone to stop worrying about the sound of the exhaust. Performance is what counts. It doesn't matter if it sounds like singing chipmunks or a space shuttle. Power is a measurement of work over time. A roaring exhaust has nothing to do with it. If you want cheap power, a custom exhaust is a great option. If you want guaranteed reliability, expect to pay for a name brand to back your product.

I'm interested as well. I fully support getting flowmaster delta 40's if you haven't made a choice yet. I don't know the difference in how an H pipe will sound Vs. an X pipe unfortunately.

Are you the same guy that said he just put in borlas in another thread and they sucked? And earlier in that thread said you were switching from borlas to corsa and now are getting magnaflows for free? Dude, what's up?

Yes. He's also the same guy that tried to get a free grill from DefenderWorks and says his car is going to have twin turbos, 12" subs, wheels, grill, and some other things and will be on display at SEMA. Then accused DefenderWorks of not knowing how a "real" aftermarket company works.

No matter what exhaust you put on, a V6 will never sound like a V8, EVER ! Nothing you can do about that, sorry. It's just like a guy with a Japanese bike trying to change his pipes to sound like a Harley, it never works....

I do however believe in picking your pipes to get both the sound AND performance that you want, it's a delicate balancing act. I am willing to give up a little performance to get the sound I want, after all, we are driving these cars on the street, not racing them. Quite frankly our 2SS gets up to freeway speeds in seconds any way, everything past that is just for fun : )
