Some of you may have read my earlier thread about my frustrating dealer experience, trying to find the source of a "rustling" noise when under heavy acceleration (4-5k rpm) from around the passenger side foot area. Well I finally got the problem fixed, and wanted to pass along the info...

According to the service manager, the problem was related to a Service Bulliten for the V8 about a faulty hose and valve to the heater core. They replaced the "heater check valve" and an "inlet hose to the heater core." Now there is no more of that rustling noise when I'm heavy on the accelerator. So problem solved.

So for those of you experiencing the same "rustling noise", the info you need to give your dealer is TSB# 09-01-37-01B

man, i thought this was old news? i think i got this taken care of almost a year ago. all it took was driving down the street one day without the stereo on to notice it, and i knew what it was right away.

ill be having this done when i take the car in for its second oil change. Anyone have a full list of TSB's? If so please PM me the info.

I don't know if there is a published definitive list, however the dealer service departments have access to a GM network with all the TSB's. But unfortunately they wait for a complaint before searching....rather than checking for the problems on every car.

I got the list from a buddy that works in the service department. Seems i have two TSB the lifters and this noise. Car has always made a weird knocking noise when i started it and now i know why.

Sorry to be a Newb, but what is TSB? My car has a slit tick from time to time and lately at about 70-80MPH, I can hear a slight rattle on the passenger side dash. Is this what ya'll were talking about?

An this happens to meat higher rpms but 2500 isnt that high.
