Instead of the lead follow that mid-ohio will want new people to do.
Yep, and multiple points in that.

I did this two years in a row, couldn't get a commitment from enough people last year, so I went to Gingerman for two days last year. fun track, not nearly as fun and technical as Mid-Ohio.

I will be doing a track day at mid ohio on june 10th With a group from Akron http://autointerests.com/events/444

If I feel everything runs smooth at that event, We will partner with them to set up an Camaro5 event later this year.

We will be using their site to register.

Now the bad... To secure the date with mid Ohio it will take 15 people to put a deposit of 100 dollars. By a predetermined time. If that $1,500 is not met by the date there will be no track day and all money is returned... If you are a driving instructor or know a driving instructor they will get in at a reduced rate as we will need instructors to ride with anyone with less than 5 track days.

This would be a Full day 8am-5pm. Runs would be 20 min long. and everyone should get at least 5 runs. This will come in less than $300 which is a bargain for that kind of time on mid-Ohio.

If I am going to the trouble to make this Happen I sure hope that I get the support of the forum and we get a large turnout!!!

Had a really good time at mid ohio today. The event went pretty smooth. I felt as though there could have been more instructors. The drivers meeting could have been more informative. Seemed the people that had never driven there before didn't understand all the rules/passing points. But Once things got rolling it went really smooth.

I will be contacting them to help host a Camaro5 day later this year.

It was nice meeting Terebit and finally seeing someone else out tracking there ZL1 like they were intended to do.

Oh yeah and a had the chance to pass a GT500 a couple times.

I had a blast too! We got to see it all; rain to start the day then dry/fast conditions the rest of the day. The ZL1 is awesome on the track and Mid-Ohio is perfectly suited for the capabilities of the car.

Agree, they need more instructors to get the new guys up to speed. They were only able to cover about a third of the Novice group. Fortunately, a lot of the folks running in the Novice group had some prior track experience and everyone behaved pretty well.

Enjoyed meeting tomster and his wife. I hope you didn't scare her too bad. Looking forward to the next track day!

Lapping Mid-Ohio

http://youtu.be/gk6yD_07PYQ

Working through traffic at Mid-Ohio. Passing was only allowed in specific sections of the track, and only after a wave-by. These weren't my fastest laps of the day, but it was fun working with the other drivers.

Looks like you're getting the hang of it!

I was there running in the advanced group shaking down my race car. I'm thinking of running my daily driver Camaro with these guys the next time they run Mid Ohio.
