No. When in PTM Mode, the mode determines the Selective Ride Control settings. When not in PTM Mode, the Selective Ride Control setting can be changed from Tour to Sport and back at any time.

The Tour and Sport settings are available when not in PTM mode. When in PTM mode the modes available are Wet, Dry, Sport 1, Sport 2, and Race.

Does the owner's manual explain what all these modes are, or does one need to search the internet for it?

Thanks!

I think the auto is posted with a 10th of a second quicker 0-60mph time as the shifting on the tapshift with the new algorithm is slightly faster than the manual...the ZL1 has to shift to 2nd gear to hit 60mph so that hurts 0-60mph times. Some cars like the Viper, C6 Z06, and '13 GT500 can hit 60mph in 1st gear so they have better 0-60mph times than the Camaro.

But launch control is not on the auto transmission at all.

You can put a transbrake in an automatic to help launch it along with a stall.

So with no launch control, how does the auto keep from breaking loose and just roasting the tires when launching from a start?

You have to learn to balance brakes with gas OR get a transbrake. A torque converter helps a lot too.

Drag racing an automatic is not as easy as some guys might like you to think. (no offense intended!)

I think it would be a lot harder with 580hp and no LC aid

I would imagine one of those PTM modes in the auto ZL1 aids with wheel spin? I know in my SS the competition mode reduces wheel spin. As long as you have some form of nanny one in the auto and its not in paddle shift mode the computer takes car of the wheel spin. In fact its kinda tricky to do a burn out in the auto SS.
